BJP sets the tone for 2019 with the chants of ‘Ajay Bharat, Atal BJP’
Share on FacebookShare on X

As the 2019 elections are right around the corner the opposition has started to intensify their efforts in repeating the web of lies that misled the public into voting for them, be it the 2015 elections of Bihar and Delhi, or the recent elections of Karnataka.

However, undeterred by their Goebbels style propaganda, the Bharatiya Janata Party has continued to show their steely resolve to win the 2019 elections, come what may. At the recently concluded national executive meet of the party, the two top commanders of the upcoming battle against the ‘Mahagathbandhan’, i.e. PM Modi and his trusted aide, BJP President Amit Shah not only invigorated the workers to not be deterred, but also laid their agenda crystal clear. The fight for Lok Sabha according to the two is not between two parties, but the forces that would ‘make India’ vs. the forces that would break India. Their rousing speeches showed the party’s strong determination in leading the bandwagon of development with cultural reforms forward, apart from ensuring that BJP continues to be a smooth and effective alternative for the masses for a long time in the future.

As reported in a press brief by Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, while addressing to the workers, PM Modi said, “…….People who can’t see eye to eye, who can’t even talk to each other are being forced to join hands. This is our success. People have accepted our programmes, party and leadership………Even smaller political parties are not ready to accept Congress’ leadership. The leadership is incapable of handling the top job……”.

He even sounded the bugle for the 2019 elections, with the slogan ‘Ajay Bharat, Atal BJP’ (Invincible Bharat, Irreplaceable BJP). Attacking the Congress government for their policy paralysis, he said, “If questions are raised on our working, we can also answer what have we achieved in 48 months”, citing examples of his beneficiary schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Digital India etc.

Shri Amit Shah was equally enthusiastic when he talked about the future initiatives of BJP led NDA government. From establishing contact with more than 22 crore families by early 2019, to inspecting more than 300 potential Lok Sabha seats, Amit Shah laid it out for everyone.

He even roasted the critics of the recent NRC policy, accusing them of disrespecting the mandate of Supreme Court, while also slipping in a hint towards the inauguration of the coveted Statue of Unity. According to Amit Shah, the statue will be inaugurated by PM Modi on 31 October 2018, the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

With that, the party’s top brass has left no doubt, that despite the vicious campaign of the Congress led ‘Mahagathbandhan’, the 2019 elections are far from being a tough call for the ‘saffron’ party. It is crystal clear that the enthusiasm amongst the BJP is on the same level as when the campaign for the then Lok Sabha polls started in 2013.

However, amidst all this inspiring talks and enthusiasm, one statement of Amit Shah provoked the opposition leaders and intellectuals rather badly. When Shri Amit Shah spoke confidently of ‘BJP ruling for next 50 years’, that didn’t go down too well with the opposition, who  went into hysteria, posting ridiculous tweets like the ones mentioned below while painting BJP as the ‘authoritarian fascists’:-

Do they plan to amend the Constitution in a manner that no free n fair elections wud be possible after that? https://t.co/bT73BDeOSH

“Whom the gods would destroy they first make mad.” …Prometheus.
“If we win 2019, we are going to be in power for the next 50 years. Nobody can remove us,” BJP president Amit Shah said at party’s national executive on September 9, 2018.

— Garga Chatterjee (@GargaC) September 10, 2018

Given how competitive Indian democracy is today, what exactly is @AmitShah hinting at when he says BJP will be in power for 50 years. 🤔 https://t.co/9kcKhgjdaE

If there’s one thing I know about voters it’s that they hate being taken for granted & almost always punish arrogance. https://t.co/oxL8KuCGV5

— Omar Abdullah (@OmarAbdullah) September 9, 2018

Ironically, none of them seemed to give attention to the fact that the statement by Shah is just meant to convey the popular support that BJP enjoys among the masses. Only time will tell what will be the outcome of the upcoming 2019 elections. The clock is ticking, and the BJP knows this very well.
