Central government employees have been patiently waiting for a long time to get a noteworthy hike in their salary. The long wait of these employees for the 7th Pay commission might soon bear fruit with the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to the latest reports PM Modi himself is going to take charge of breaking the deadlock over the 7th Pay commission in order to boost job satisfaction in the government employees. PM Modi and the BJP government realises the need to fulfill several demands and recommendations of which implementation of the 7th Pay commission is of primary importance. It shouldn’t be a big problem for the central government to implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay commission at this point of time, as the Indian economy is doing really well. If the BJP succeeds in implementing the 7th pay commission recommendations before 2019, it would be a huge morale booster for the employees and will also be a great boost for the BJP prior to the 2019 elections.
PM Modi has asked all Central Public Sector Units (PSUs) to speed up the promotions and introduce a holiday policy for the good performers. PSUs such as Oil India, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. and National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. amongst others will be directed by a panel set up by PM Modi to ensure that the benefits of holidays and promotions for the best performers reaches the employees faster. The said panel consists of members from Oil India, BHEL and NTPC. They have been entrusted to come up with a fitting framework within hundred days. The first meeting of the panel would take place on 4th June and they will be reporting to PM Modi directly once they come up with a tried and tested model. Some work has already been done in this regard as these deliberations were presented at the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE) conclave headed by PM Modi. The CPSE conclave was held on 9th April this year at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
According to sources the final increase in pay and other benefits could well exceed the recommendations by the 7th Pay commission. If this happens it would bring smiles to the faces of the lakhs of central government employees and their families. The increase in purchasing capacity of a sizeable population would further boost the economy and lead to a greater good. The BJP’s prospects in the upcoming 2019 elections are likely to increase significantly if this happens. The patience of central government employees will finally pay off and it is likely to exceed their expectations this time. This is unlike the earlier implementations of Pay commission recommendations carried out under the Congress rule.
