Arvind Kejriwal’s life has been full of ups and downs. Running away from a job in the IRS he landed in the midst of an anti-political protest. Using the sentiments of the same movement he jumped into the political scene and it’s been a free fall ever since then. He was able to steer public opinion in his favour and he used it as an opportunity to mislead the people. His game of abusing and accusing any and everyone in his opposition was called out many times. He, however, hit the hornet’s nest when he accused Finance Minister Arun Jaitley of malpractice during Jaitley’s tenure at the DDCA. Jaitley filed a defamation case against Kejriwal and his cronies. Kumar Vishwas had been faithful to Kejriwal ever since the inception of Aam Aadmi Party. He too had lent his voice to every allegation raised by Kejriwal on opposition. From Arun Jaitley to Punjab BJP leader Majithia, everyone had come under fire from Kejriwal and Kumar Vishwas and other AAP leaders. Kejriwal being Kejriwal took a ‘bold’ U-turn on the defamation issues too. He realised his weaker position in the defamation cases against him and started writing apology letters to every pissed off leader in India. A total of 30 defamation cases were ongoing against Kejriwal and other leaders of AAP before his apology.
Arvind Kejriwal chose the easy way out of accusing and then apologising and it is easy for Kejriwal to do so. His many antics in the past have proved that he might be many things but certainly not honourable. The same cannot be said for AAP leaders like Kumar Vishwas, a poet who had joined AAP for he believed in AAP’s capacity to change the political scene in India. Kumar Vishwas has been going through a frosty phase with Arvind Kejriwal and the spree of apologies from Kejriwal and Co. have not helped. Kumar Vishwas too is facing the defamation cases filed by Arun Jaitley, Vikram Majithia and others. Kejriwal and a couple other leaders have issued written apologies to people they had earlier targeted through their speeches. These apologies may have reduced the burden on Kejriwal’s mind but what about the other leaders whose names are still there in the defamation case. Kumar Vishwas is one of them, and he has openly come out to slam Kejriwal of betraying the trust of AAP workers and dishonouring AAP through his apologies. Vishwas has reportedly said that he had merely voiced the opinions of Arvind Kejriwal thinking them to be genuine in nature. He slammed Kejriwal further by stating that Kejriwal has tried to get away with an apology but what will happen to the party workers from Punjab who are facing similar charges filed by Majithia.
Kumar Vishwas has called out Kejriwal’s tactics by further demanding an apology from Kejriwal on behalf of all the party workers of AAP. Kejriwal’s spineless behaviour has displeased Kumar Vishwas, once a core group member and close aide of Kejriwal. The gap between the two is going to widen in the coming days as Arvind Kejriwal has shown his true colours to the AAP workers and Kumar Vishwas for the first time. Just like the common people of India, Vishwas and other party workers will find it hard to believe in the words of Arvind Kejriwal in the days to come. Kumar Vishwas and other party workers facing defamation charges in the upcoming days could also receive a written apology letter from the ‘Great Apologiser’ Mr. Kejriwal.
