January 26, 1992 – A group of Islamist Goons occupied the Lal Chowk in Srinagar, and challenged Indians to hoist the tricolor there. The challenge was accepted, a procession of committed BJP workers hoisted the tricolor, defying the diktat brazenly.
25 years later,
The venue was the same, The issue, the same. Only the person issuing the diktat changed. He was the same man who scooted away when hordes of marauders invaded Kashmir, unleashing their reign of terror on millions of hapless Kashmiris. He is the same man, who joined Arvind Kejriwal in doubting the authencity of the surgical strikes. He cried hoarse when dreaded terrorists like Burhan Wani and Sabzar Ahmed Bhat were neutralized. He mocked the idea of liberating Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. He upped the ante with this ‘dare’ to hoist the tricolor at the Lal Chowk in Srinagar. Yes, we are talking about Farooq Abdullah, the ex-CM of Jammu and Kashmir.
6 December 2017:-
The patriots said – Mission ACCOMPLISHED!
Yes, after 25 long years, Indian tricolor was hoisted with pride at the Lal Chowk in Srinagar. Replying to the mocking challenge thrown in Farooq Abdullah, a group of diehard patriots, comprising of both native Kashmiris and some enthusiastic members of the Kashmir faction of political party Shiv Sena, decided to accept the challenge and hoist the national flag at Lal Chowk.
On a cold Wednesday morning, the group unfurled the tricolor at the Lal Chowk, chanting cries of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
The police, which has been successful in stopping the patriots since 2009, after BSF and CRPF had discontinued the practice of hoisting the flag at the Clock Tower in Lal Chowk, were completely taken by surprise. Not only had the group of patriots managed to assemble at Lal Chowk, they also unmanaged to nfurl the tricolor.
However, the story didn’t exactly have a happy ending. Embarrassed by their ‘failure’, the state police arrested the group before they could manage to raise the tricolor on the famous Clock Tower. To avoid further embarrassment, they even resorted to circulating false news, claiming that the group never unfurled the tricolor at all. What’s worse, even the media joined the bandwagon and circulated absolutely false rumors like these:-
Sadly, for them, some journalists from Times Now were also present, they recorded the group of activists unfurling the tricolor at Lal Chowk on tape. Here’s the video:-
Kashmir is being metamorphosed. As of now, over 210 terrorists have been shot down. Stone Pelting incidents have become a rarity. Recently a group of Kashmiris pelted stones at a terrorist trying to loot a bank on gunpoint. Only a couple of months before, a Kashmiri Pandit woman went up to the same venue, and roared in defiance, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai!’ on the occasion of India completing 70 years of independence from the British empire. This is warning bells for traditional stakeholders in Kashmir. And that shows in their statements.
Talking about Mr. Farooq Abdullah, it’s time that he either retires from active politics or refrains from making a laughing stock of himself time and again. After being ousted from power in 2014, Farooq Abdullah has defined all norms of social conduct, often giving a tough competition to Mani Shankar Aiyar. When Kashmiri Pandits demanded a resolution calling for their return to the Kashmir Valley, Mr. Abdullah retorted rather crossly, asking if they need to beg to the Pandits to return to their homeland. Even after the drubbing in the 2014 Legislative Assembly elections, the man has refused to learn anything, and has mostly sided with the separatists, sometimes even openly advocating sedition. Following are some excerpts of his brazen mockery of the Indian government and our motherland.
But with the hoisting of the tricolor, the small group of activists has not only given a fitting reply to Mr. Abdullah, but also sent a message loud and clear: For every seditionist in this nation, there are a thousand nationalists.
As for the Shiv Sena, it feels really nice to finally write something good about them. It has been extremely painful to see a nationalist party romancing with the Likes of Congress and the Trinamool. This is the kind of act, people associate Shiv Sena with. We hope that they will be back to the ideals with which the legendary Bala Saheb founded the party.
