Article 356 Seems to be the Only Way to Save West Bengal from Mamata Banerjee

Not very long ago in Aug 2006 Mamta Banerjee had hurled her resignation papers at the Deputy Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal in the Lok Sabha when the then speaker Somnath Chaterjee had rejected her adjournment motion on illegal infiltration of Bangleshdeshis into West Bengal, apparently the motion was turned down as the format was improper and Didi had lost her cool as she felt that her right to speak was curtailed!

Fast forward this to 2017, a 17 year old juvenile puts up a Facebook post expressing his thoughts that Kaaba – the holy place of Muslims could have very well been an ancient Shiva temple, and all liberal- secular hell breaks loose! Remember freedom of expression is only for Hindu bashing and the epitome of secularism is when Ram is wronged with a Rongdhenu! In the aftermath of the Facebook incident that led to violent torching of Hindu homes it is for anybody to ascertain if it was the image that allegedly hurt religious sentiments or the bigotry of religious sentiments that caused the violent stir, whichever was more boorish but the fact that a mass mobilization of Muslims was channeled up demanding the handover of the boy to be stoned to death as they went berserk rioting across the streets of Basirhat damaging public property, arson and even killing an innocent Kartik Ghosh over the juvenile’s Facebook post, reveals not just religious hooliganism but also the political clout and favoritism these mobs enjoy in Mamta’s secular lab culture of Islamic fanaticism! And it is too naïve for anybody to be ignoring the fact that the same political equations of post-independence era are being encouraged and engineered in the name of secularism which is a grave threat to our national security and it is no coincidence that radical Islamic fundamentalism thrives in those very places that were contentious before officially becoming a part of India.

Ever since Mamta Banerjee reign, the communal violence in Bengal has spiked up! And if such violent demonstrations are adopted to curtail freedom of expression perhaps the future Facebookers will also be forced to say #NotInMyName!

The opportunist that she was in her fire-fighting days of political ascend during her off and on bonhomie equations with the NDA and the Congress along whose support she dismantled the communist regime of 34 years, steering her way up with her slogan of Ma Mati Manush, she has today reduced Bengal into a lawless state of rapes, violent mob culture, poverty with no economic, industrial or technological accomplishments to talk about her politics today is neither about Ma(mother) nor Mati(Motherland) nor her own Manush(People) but outright minority appeasement! Because the issues and ideology that she once stood by does not seem to matter anymore as the pillars of her political empire are built on communal polarization of the state of West Bengal.

The 34 years of Communist and Christian rule kept Bengal economically backward and the large Muslim population was mostly plunged into mushrooming Madrasas that alienated the Muslims from mainstream, as there was hardly any employment or educational revolution in the state, the poor were stricken with more poverty in an ill administered, corrupt state. The Bengal that was once a culturally rich state has been reduced to masses of culturally and morally bankrupt, starved, poor and unemployed lots who have become easy recruits for a volcanic Islamic fundamentalist cause that was waiting to erupt and edge out separatist identities, with the advent of TMC it is today being egregiously furthered by an aggressively Muslim appeasing Mamta to reap political dividends at the cost of national security. In fact communal violence has increased multifold under the TMC rule and communal violence is emerging as the new mantra for a political win, at least in West Bengal with 30% Muslim and another 30% into a Stockholm sydrome there seems to be no stopping!

Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrations allegedly happen right under the nose of the Mamta government. It is no secret that the Sharda scam money was being used to fund extremists in Bangladesh and many TMC elected members are sympathizers of terror outfits or have connections with them directly. Mamta Banerjee’s blue eyed boy and TMC youth leader Abhishek Banerjee openly threatens his opponents with gouging of eyes, chopping of hands, and other gruesome things like that which would completely choke even a political opponent’s voice then what speak of a common man! Mamta is an eccentric politician who disrespected the Election Commission’s show cause notice for violation of moral code of conduct by saying ‘Do what you like’ , she continues to rabidly promote and patronize radical Islam even after a Kolkatta High court came down heavily criticizing her blatant appeasement gimmicks at the cost of law and order of the state.

The communal violence of Malda, Illambazaar, Hazarinagar clashes, Khairana exodus of Hindus, Daulagarh, Midnapore, Burdoun, or Bassirhat is not a spontaneous phenomenon, it is a result of continuous and consistent accordance of privileged status to Muslims at the cost of the Hindus. It is the special financial, social and religious privileges given to Maulvis by looting the state exchequer. It is blatant inducing of fear among Hindus who follow their faith by imposing ban on Durga puja or covering up Durga idols during Islamic festivals that has bolstered the Muslim community to take law into their own hands as the state willingly supports them while choosing to ignore the plight of the Hindu community. And this discriminatory preference is against our constitution that advocates religious impartiality where no one person is made to suffer because of any religious discrimination. The state of West Bengal under Mamta Banerjee has been largely and blatantly patronizing one community over the other leading to law and order problems where members of Hindu community are perennially being made to suffer and live in fear which is against the ideology of the constitutional machinery.

Article 356 seems to be the only way to save a very fast deteriorating West Bengal under Mamata Banerjee.

Article 356 or President Rule can be invoked when a state is unable to maintain law and order or unable to impart impartial justice to members of all communities or when the ideology of any political party in the state in power is inconsistent with the constitutional philosophy, and West Bengal under Mamta’s reign has time and again proved beyond doubt and beyond the conscience of even the most corrupt of liberals that yes West Bengal needs to be lifted up from the pseudo shackles of overt secularism that has rendered the state into a colossal clutter that the center can no more ignore!

As per an RTI response from MHA the Article 356 has been implemented 115 times since independence till date!

The Article 356 was used 63 times between 1971 to 1990 as those days were highly polarized where it was used mostly as a political weapon until the 1994 judgement that advocated exercising restraint and fair play in imposing Article 356 depending on the gravity of the state of affairs of the state in question, currently the state of West Bengal has been taking steps to shrink Hinduism in Hindus and with this rate the day is not far when the state might openly admonish people for not kneeling in a Namaz, unless the center wakes up to the plight of the helpless Hindus.
