The anti Modi political clout plummeting to new lows hatched yet another conspiracy called #NotInMyName aimed against a particular Indian community purely for electoral gains. It is not new for the self acclaimed intelligentsia to deplore the majority Indian community, the Hindus for electoral gains and to make unnecessary hue and cry out of stray incidents of communal violence of a purely local nature but this time some select personalities riding on their propaganda machineries and some western media channels traditionally known for taking an anti India stance have gone in overdose in what seems to be a do or die situation before the 2019 Elections.
Even though the mainstream media and some handsomely paid Social Media platforms would like you to believe that these protests have caught the pulse of the Nation but in reality these protests are limited to few personalities having clear political inclinations.
There is no public support to such protests, these protests have failed to impress the general public at large and it turned out to be a major flop due to following reasons:
Overused tactic:
Post 2014 debacle the vanquished political outfits of India mercilessly rejected by the electorate decided to come together in order to defeat the Statesman of the current generation. This unholy alliance was not limited to political parties but extended to their agents and news traders. Whenever an election was around the corner these news traders and duly rewarded stooges got together in order to concoct a false narrative defaming their common enemy to be a Hindu terrorist adamant on threatening the existence of the minority communities. For proving this, the complex coalition stooped to terrible lows and any incident taking place in any nook and corner of the country under any State Government was directly attributed to the Prime Minister of the Nation.
This tactic worked wonders during the Bihar Elections where the JDU RJD Congress Coalition managed to keep BJP at bay but in the subsequent Elections the electorate became familiar with this oft repeated façade in diverse forms and come the UP Elections this tactic proved to be wholly obsolete. The electorate is sharp and experienced enough to understand the desperation and political lust in some clouts fuelling these protests out of thin air.
No palpable fear or public anger:
These protests which have been covered by western Media channels like the BBC News have been highlighting that the Modi Government along with the BJP party troops has gone on a mad spree against the minorities. There protestors claim that the rule of law no longer exists and that it has been replaced by mob fury.
In reality, this is not the case mob lynching though horrifying it is has not become the norm in India and even every instance of lynching is not necessarily related to religious hatred or cow vigilantism. Taking the recent lynching of a Muslim teenager for instance, certain news traders instantly claimed that it was yet another beef related death when the actual issue was a scuffle between rail passengers. The fact remains that the ‘Indians’ do not fear what does not actually exist. At most, mob rule is a figment of imagination in certain politically motivated minds.
Unnecessary Hindu bashing:
The protestors themselves seem confused for what started as a protest against religious violence has itself plunged into religious bigotry and hatred. Therefore, the Lutyens’ club resorted to only thing it is good at, i.e. Hindu bashing. The protest has degenerated to defamation and ridicule of Hinduism. Irony died a painful death when those who believe in the philosophy that ‘terrorism has no religion’ claimed that India is plagued by Hindu/ Saffron Terrorism.
The so called liberals now argue that Hinduism is the main culprit as it is creating terrorists day in and day out. These arguments fall flat on the face of it primarily because demographic statistics of India tell a different story for had Hinduism been actually a religion propagating the last seven decades would have witnessed the extinction of all other communities in India. On the contrary, the so called Saffron terrorists have continuously shrunk in size and proportion in the history of India.
Conclusion:
Looking at the mainstream media and the leftist social media platforms one is clear that the anti Modi clout is putting all its weight behind these protests maybe because they know that this is their last opportunity to stop the Modi juggernaut before 2019.
The fact that this time even some of their friends from the West have to come to rescue bears testimony to this fact. But they are most likely to fail in giving effect to their ulterior motives simply because the general public has ceased responding to facades and make believe stories.
