Being a movie buff, I’m a fan of any movie that has a rock-solid content, a supreme dose of realistic performances, and above all, quotes that make you learn the realities of life like nothing else. Among my favorites is the sequel to the Oscar winning masterpiece, ‘The Godfather’, where Michael Corleone ruefully admits something important, ‘You know the saddest thing about betrayal? IT NEVER COMES FROM YOUR ENEMY!’
But why am I quoting him today? Why do I think that this dialogue is as relevant today as it was then? It is because of the breed of people that we’re seeing in our nation, India, at a juncture where we’re grappling with all sorts of enemies, whether from outside, or from outside. Those breeds of people I talk about seem to be our well wishers, and owe their allegiance apparently to our motherland, and anyone, whose interests match with theirs. However, once their interests are threatened, they don’t take a moment to betray those very folks, whom they supported vociferously, and do not even feel shame in assisting the very forces they once fought viciously against, just to make their selfish ends meet. They claim to be patriotic, and yet no title suits them better as Fickle patriots.
Fickle patriots? Yes, Fickle patriots, those who are patriots only in name. It just takes a mishap on our territories to make them switch their loyalties, faster than a certain creed divorcing their wives. The brutal mutilation of two BSF soldiers at Krishna Ghati, apart from the massacre of almost three dozen soldiers from CRPF at Sukma just present an instance of such Fickle patriots.
These fellows take no time in undermining the credit of any bold step taken by the government, and in the times of crisis, like the one we are suffering right now regarding the severe mutilation of two BSF soldiers at the Krishna Ghati sector, they find no time in roasting the PM and NSA Doval alive, as if they are supposed to order retaliation, immediately.
Everytime an attack on army men happens, the nation seethes with anger. And that is the perfect time to strengthen the anti-Government momentum. Have you not noticed trends like ModiMustResign and SackDoval on Twitter during such crises. These trends are crated by anti-India forces but are made viral by fickle patriots who feel no need to stand with their government at the time of crises but join the hordes of people with sinister agendas.
These people unintentionally fall into the traps carefully laid by anti-India forces who are hellbent on creating an anti-Modi wave across the nation. These gullible fickle patriots unintentionally collaborate with anti Indian forces, who are otherwise their bête noire
Their prime enemies before any attack on armed forces would be Rahul Gandhi, or Kejriwal or the coterie of Indian intelligentsia, but once a casualty strikes at the defence establishments, be it of any force, their bête noire would be Ajit Doval and Narendra Modi. Doval would be castigated, irrespective of all his previous achievements, and calls for sacking him would once again resonate the skies of Indian politics.
In no way, Anger should be substituted by madness, India doesn’t need to disburse instant justice, it needs a well planned, and precisely executed colder strategy. Like the September 29 surgical strike on terror launch pads across LoC, a feat of sheer daredevilry by men from an elite Indian Army force. And of course a long term plan that can prohibit similar attacks.
Regarding the Fickle Patriot’s instant divorce to Modi and Doval, sometimes I find it funny that these very people once looked forward to the duo as their one stop shop for all the defence related problems, and it isn’t that the two haven’t performed as expected.
Call it what you want, but you couldn’t kill the dreaded Burhan Wani without some clear instructions from the top brass. Besides, despite the concentrated casualties, that are continuously plaguing the nation, the Central Government has managed to bring down the scale of affected areas to a huge extent. Have these Fickle Patriots forgotten the effective retaliations against the brutal atrocities on our soldiers, whether in Manipur, or in Uri? Oh, whom am I talking to? These are the same Fickle Patriots, who demand, like Arvind Kejriwal, of the proof of the surgical strikes conducted across the LOC. Man, in no country, would a country, except the likes of Pakistan, would award officially medals for conducting a fake operation. But who would explain that to these Fickle Patriots?
To be truthful, these Fickle Patriots are only forwarding the agenda of the anti India forces, with an ulterior motive to break and divide India further. I know, in such events, a backlash is expected, and constructive criticism of the PM should never be castigated. However, this should in no way, give room to those forces, who wish to destroy India for their selfish interests. Fickle patriots are more harmful than openly anti Indian terrorists, they first seem like a friend, then turn into a terrifying enemy force.
The fickle patriots must remember how every agent of the Lutyens tried every trick in the book to prevent Modi from entering the PM Office, they were afraid then and they are scared now. Because Modi didn’t just win he solidified his claims for next 2 terms as well. And Getting Doval removed is the dream of every anti-India force out there, after he was the one who turned terrorist against terrorists in Kashmir and paved the way for state elections in Jammu and Kashmir in 1996.
