Churchill – The smooth-talking rascal, The genocidal maniac died on this day

“If the Indians are dying of hunger, why hasn’t Gandhi died yet?”

24th January, is the death anniversary of Sir Winston Churchill, who is hailed as one of the greatest leaders of the world and is held up as the hero of the nation in Britain. He is the new face on £5 note. He won Nobel prize for literature and the prize states, “for his mastery of historical and biographical description as well as for brilliant oratory in defending exalted human values.” Human values, you say? Now we understand how much value an average Indian life held in the eyes of the White people back then. It is doubtful if it was more than mere cattle animals.

A great military strategist and farsighted politician is what we hear about him or read about him in history books, because “History is written by the victors”. But when we look at how his ideas and actions affected the world, we see only a genocidal maniac. His blood lust can be observed everywhere he set foot upon or talked about, from India to Africa. He was massively racist, considering the whites of England as the most superior race responsible to teach other races civility, way of living and religion. Let’s go into specific details focusing primarily on India:

INDIA

During the World War II, Bengal witnessed one of the greatest famines the world has ever witnessed. Eastern part of Bengal was most badly affected. An estimated 7 million men, women and children died of hunger, probably more, not less. Millions of people migrated westward. My family was a tenant of such Bengalis which had migrated from Dhaka to Bihar during the famine. The reason behind the famine was a cyclone, as well as the policy of import of grain. Britain used to import rice from India to Europe for the soldiers in the ongoing war. When the guilt ridden British officers wrote to Winston Churchill, who was the Prime Minister of Britain during that time, he simply refused to change his policy of importing the rice grains. The food grown by Indians could not save their own countrymen. The food was imported, as a reserve for the soldiers, as extra, in case the warehouses were lost to the Germans. Some were sent to the Middle East as well.

When the British officers in New Delhi wrote to London again, Winston Churchill wrote in the margin, “If the Indians are dying of hunger, why hasn’t Gandhi died yet?” He is also reported to have said, “Famine or no famine, Indians breed like rabbits.”

The United States and Canada offered thousands of tons of food grains as help to India, to which Winston Churchill simply refused, providing no reason for such act. He let the people die and migrate because he wanted it to happen. He engineered the famine. Leo Amery, who was the British Secretary of State in India said, “I don’t see much difference between Churchill’s outlook and Hitler’s”. Winston Churchill held no values for the lives of the Indians and anyone idolizing such a man must have the same outlook towards people in third world countries as him. He is noted to have great contempt towards every race other than the English whites.

He was in favour of using mustard gas and other chemical weapons on Indians and Africans, including the tribes. He was a strong advocate of colonization, stating on record, that “It is their (the British) responsibility to teach the world civility, forcefully, if required.”

He is known to have said that the British exit from the Indian Subcontinent would lead to a religious civil war and partition. One might wonder if the seeds of the partition were planted by him during his tenure. He sent 2 million Indian troops to suicide missions, which were deemed too dangerous for the British men, during World War II resulting in the death of 87,000 Indian men (40 percent of the total army).

AFRICA

In 1952, Britain declared Emergency in the state of Kenya, to conserve the system of racism that they had established in their colonies as to exploit the indigenous population in terms of forced labour. Winston Churchill, a shrewd inhuman racist politician, believed that Kenya’s fertile beautiful highlands should be made available to the white colonial settlers only. He approved the forced removal of the tribal population. He approved the closing of schools and other indigenous institutes calling them as the breeding ground for rebellion. He even punished Edwina Mountbatten for speaking out about it. (Mountbatten was not able to take her to the tour of Turkey.)

IRAN and IRAQ

We all know that the Islamic radicalisation is rather new. Western involvement in the politics for their own profit, including that of UK and USA, gave way for civil unrest what we see today. One prime example is Churchill’s involvement in Iran. Churchill brought a bill in the House of Commons, in 1914 that would enable the British government in becoming the major shareholder of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company. Simply said, the Britishers began illegally taxing the Iranian government.

When Mohammad Mossadegh’s nationalist government showed a sign non British dependence, Winston Churchill decided to perform a coup against the democratically elected government. In August 1953, he helped overthrew democracy so that the new government is in the interest of the British.

In 1921, Winston Churchill was appointed as the ‘Secretary of State in the Colonies’ of which he formed the ‘Middle East Department’ responsible for Iraq. The tribes in Iraq rose against the British supremacist oil sucking governance. Air Force was used to bomb huge areas of Mesopotamia, modern day Iraq killing thousands, wiping villages.

OTHER COUNTRIES

Winston Churchill is known to have planted the seed of exclusion of Black people from voting in South Africa. He is known to have knowingly instigate the Palestinian situation. He was the idea behind the Black and Tans, who rampages across Ireland, destroying everything in front of them. He hated the Irish race to his guts and crushed their independence movement with might.

He is considered as the war hero who saved the world from German dictatorship. But after the declassification of the files of Alan Turing, the man who cracked Enigma encoding machine, it can be safely assumed that it was Alan Turing’s computer which decoded every German messages and a slow strategy to not let the Germans know that they had cracked the encoding machine, led the Allies to victory and not Churchill’s leadership.

Winston Churchill had no understanding of other races, cultures or values and neither did he respect any. He hated every race other than the whites. The Britishers won two wars, and the victors write the history. Hitler had similar hate for the Jews, was ultra nationalist, and put the German interests first before anything else. Winston Churchill is his exact British version, the only difference however, is that Hitler was not alive or victorious to write his own version of history. Where does he stand ethically, if not on the death of millions of people?
