Of course it makes a lot of sense for a Communist to malign the Hindus for a deplorable act of the Muslims. Don’t believe me, here’s what happened:
Mohammad Shami, India’s ace pacer posts a picture on his Facebook page. The picture has him decked up in a suit and Mrs. Shami dressed elegantly in a gown. The couple have winsome smiles on their faces.
It was too much to take for some Muslim Bigots who quickly lumped together a small army of sorts and trolled the couple for the ‘indecent’ picture. The bigots used to seeing their women in loose black tents commonly known as Burqa were not humored by the ‘modern’ dressing of a Muslim Woman. Since the comments were so gross and so many that it soon escalated into a full blown news piece forcing main stream media to take notice of the indecent trolling of Mohammad Shami and his wife by Muslim bigots.
But that’s what the whole world saw, Kavita Krishnan, an elite communist, Secretary, AIPWA and Polit Bureau member, CPI(ML) saw things differently.
She saw oppression. So she begins her article with a reference to Upper – Lower caste tussle in Hinduism and how Upper Caste Hindus have been bullying the lower caste people since time immemorial by setting up rules for them which is technically an entitlement. She hastily mentions that Women have been oppressed by all creeds equally and then moves to the core agenda of somehow trying to vilify Hindus.

It’s fascist to tell Muslims or Christians or Dalits they can’t eat beef or else they’ll face abuse, threats and violence. Likewise isn’t it just as oppressive to tell women they can’t wear what they like or marry who they like or conduct themselves as they like?
So to prove a point that Women shouldn’t be oppressed, Kavita Krishnan cites an example where the Fascist Hindus are setting up rules for all other communities. Of course she forgets that we live in a country where minorities are entitled to more rights, privileges and reservations than probably any other country.

Oh and hey, Hindutva walas who are self-righteously condemning those trolling and threatening Mohammad Shami and his wife, good for you. Welcome to feminism. Now I hope you’ll stand up against the Bajrang Dal when it bans jeans for women. Or the Sanghi trolls who abused Kareena Kapoor for marrying Saif Ali Khan and naming their baby Taimur.
Funny! Because Kavita Krishnan believes that Hindus are condemning the incident because Muslims are the perpetrators in this case and not because of their inherent morality. And that the Hindus need to perform the aforementioned activities in order to maintain their “high moral ground”. I am not sure how many educated Hindus believe in Bajrang Dal’s jeans ban or Shri Ram Sene’s pub-raid. And I being an educated and well-read Hindu criticize Kareena Kapoor, not for marrying Saif Ali Khan but for naming her kid Taimur, a name synonymous with hatred and brutality.
The moral policing of Mohammad Shami’s wife was an easy case and it needed some straight-talking and not the standard convoluted communist agenda of denigrating Hindus. This was a case of Muslim Extremists trying to become the regulators of the society. By not condemning them but condemning Hindus, Kavita Krishnan in fact lends a supporting hand to the bigotry. While presenting herself as a feminist, she does everything to embolden the evildoers.
