BJP Politician and Goa Chronicle founder Savio Rodrigues claims that US President Donald Trump, CIA and the Deep State are plotting to remove PM Modi from power. Savio alleged the plan targets 37 BJP MPs and aims to create a BJP-RSS rift, with a 12–18 month timeline.
On August 6, Savio Rodrigues wrote on X (formerly Twitter), Deep State has initiated Operation ‘Diversion, Deception and Division’. CIA has got 12-months time to break BJP from within and create confusion in the RSS ranks. The aim is simple ‘Modi Must Go’. His continuation in India is proving detrimental to their plans. Besides attempt break BJP within, they will ensure Modi’s two strongest assets will be kept busy in legal wrangles.” He urged PM Modi and Home minister Amit Shah to initiate ‘Operation 37’ and exclaims that “Not everyone puts Nation First.
On August 10, Savio Rodrigues again took to twitter, writing that “Deep State along with CIA active in India. Operation ‘Diversion, Deception and Division’ in force. Nothing is coincidental. Keep your eyes and ears open.”
His claims are alarming especially at a time when Trump has unleashed a Tariff War on India. The United States has recently escalated trade tensions with India by imposing steep 50% tariffs on select Indian exports, a move widely interpreted as retaliation for New Delhi’s continued energy and defence engagements with Moscow. Washington has expressed growing discomfort over India’s sustained imports of discounted Russian oil, despite Western sanctions on Russia following the Ukraine conflict.
The tariff hike signals a hardening of the U.S. stance, as the Trump administration seeks to pressure India into aligning more closely with Western policy on Russia. This development threatens to strain the strategic partnership between Washington and New Delhi, especially at a time when India is seeking to balance its ties between the West and long-standing partner Russia.
As geopolitical dynamics shift, President Trump’s attempt to arm twist India through economic sanctions has been met with befitting replies. Instead of capitulating, India has responded with dignity, strength, and clarity. PM Modi’s unwavering support for Indian farmers and his refusal to yield to unfair demands underscore a leadership that puts national interest above all else.
