Just before the start of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media at the Parliament gates, highlighting India’s growing military capabilities through the success of Operation Sindoor. He described the operation as a complete success, underscoring India’s ability to carry out precise and effective counter-terrorism strikes.
The Prime Minister stated, “The entire world has witnessed the power of our armed forces. During Operation Sindoor, our soldiers penetrated enemy territory and accomplished their objectives with 100% success.” He recalled announcing this achievement earlier during a public rally in Bihar.
PM Modi also pointed to the use of indigenously developed military equipment during the operation, reflecting the country’s increasing self-reliance in defense technology.
“Our indigenous defense tools impressed the global community, marking a significant milestone in our journey towards a self-sufficient defense ecosystem,” he said.
A Session Marked by National Pride and Progress
PM Modi referred to the Monsoon Session as a “vijayotsav” or celebration of victory for India. Besides military accomplishments, he drew attention to a historic achievement in space exploration: the Indian national flag was hoisted for the first time aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
“This moment of pride unites every Indian and fuels new enthusiasm for science and innovation throughout the country,” the Prime Minister noted, adding that this milestone will inspire future space missions and further scientific advancements.
Monsoon Session Symbolizes Renewal and Growth
Linking the significance of the session with the ongoing monsoon season, PM Modi said the favorable rains have greatly benefited agriculture and rural livelihoods.
“Just as the monsoon brings prosperity to our farmers and rural economy, this session symbolizes fresh energy, innovation, and opportunities for growth across the nation,” he remarked.
Parliamentary Agenda and Anticipated Discussions
Modi urged lawmakers to put national interest above politics during the session, emphasizing cooperation and focus on India’s progress.
The upcoming Monsoon Session is expected to feature discussions on:
The aftermath and implications of Operation Sindoor
The Pahalgam terror attack
Voter list revisions in Bihar
Controversies surrounding international comments on India-Pakistan relations
Additionally, several important bills are slated for introduction and passage, including reforms in taxation, mining, ports modernization, sports governance, and anti-doping regulations.
