Muskan, who is in judicial custody for the alleged murder of her husband, has been found pregnant during a routine health check at a women’s jail in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The test was part of standard medical examinations conducted on all female inmates, according to Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma.
Sharma stated that he had received verbal confirmation of Muskan’s pregnancy but was waiting for the official medical report.
“Health check-ups and pregnancy tests are standard for every incoming female inmate, and Muskan’s test was conducted as part of this protocol,” he said.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ashok Kataria confirmed that preliminary tests indicated a positive result for pregnancy. An ultrasound is scheduled to confirm the condition and determine the gestational age.
Muskan and her alleged lover, Sahil, were arrested for the brutal murder of her husband, Saurabh Rajput, a former Merchant Navy officer. The incident occurred on March 4 at their residence in Indiranagar, Meerut. According to police, the accused duo allegedly drugged Saurabh before stabbing him to death.

In a chilling attempt to hide the crime, the pair reportedly severed the victim’s head and hands and concealed the remains in a blue drum filled with cement. The investigators are of the view that Muskan had planned the killing since November 2023.
Both Sahil and Muskan Rastogi are currently in judicial custody. As part of the rehabilitation program at the jail, Muskan has been given sewing work, while Sahil is employed at the prison’s agriculture department. Both are also undergoing treatment at a drug de-addiction center.
The authorities are waiting for the ultrasound to better evaluate Muskan’s condition, which could affect current legal proceedings in this infamous murder case.
