In a shocking occurrence in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, a man assaulted his eight-month pregnant wife to death after an argument at their home in Uda Colony, PM Palem. The suspected perpetrator, Jnaneshwar, owns a fast-food stall near the popular Sagar Nagar viewpoint in the city. The wife was identified as Anusha, 27 and was only weeks away from giving birth to their child.
As voiced in reports on the incident, the couple who had a love marriage three years earlier often had disagreements concerning personal and family matters.
During the same time of the early morning incident, Jnaneshwar and Anusha had also argued about family matters; however, Jnaneshwar then strangled Anusha to death during a fit of rage. She fell unconscious, and he rushed her to a hospital, claiming she was unwell. However, doctors declared her dead-on arrival.
Later, Jnaneshwar confessed his crime to the PM Palem police and was taken into custody. The police have registered a case and sent Anusha’s body to KGH mortuary for a post-mortem. Her devastated mother and friends have demanded strict action against the accused, calling for justice so that no other woman suffers a similar fate.
This horrifying event raises significant concern about the increasing incidents of domestic violence and the quickness of people using murder to resolve conflicts. In a society that already neglects anger control and emotional control, it becomes frighteningly common to observe people reacting violently over arguments that could have been solved by communication and support.
