The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has cancelled papers for two subjects namely Hindi and Science for Class 10th after the papers for these subjects got leaked on social media.
Confirming the development, a JAC official stated that the exams have been cancelled after the papers allegedly got leaked and went viral on social media. The papers that were doing rounds on social media were an exact match with the actual exam papers which forced the JAC to cancel the exams for these two subjects.
The exam for the Hindi subject was conducted on 18th February and the science paper was scheduled for today (20th February).
As per the official notice dated 20th Feb, the Council announced that the Hindi and science papers have been cancelled. It added that the dates for re-examination will be announced later.
In a notice, the JAC said, “All students, their parents, principals concerned, centre superintendents and officials concerned are informed that in the light of information received through social media and newspapers, the examinations of Hindi (Course A & Course B) subject held in the first sitting on February 18 and Science subject in the first sitting on February 20 are cancelled.”
Furthermore, the Kharia, Khortha, Kundmali, and Nagpuri exams for class 10th were earlier postponed from 14th February because of the “Shab-e-Barat” holiday. They will now be conducted on 4th March.
Pertinently, the JAC board exams for Classes 10th and 12th began on 11th February. Class 10th exams are being conducted in the morning shifts (9.45 am to 1 pm), while that for Class 12th commences in the second shift (2 pm to 5.15 pm). Around 7.84 lakh students are enrolled in the JAC board examinations.
Now, as per the revised schedule, the examinations for classes 10th and 12th that were earlier set to conclude on 3rd March, will now end on 4th March.
