On Friday (17th January), BJP National President and Union Minister JP Nadda unveiled party’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ (poll manifesto) for the Delhi assembly elections slated for 5th february. The key election promises of the saffron party include Rs 21,000 for pregnant women, Rs 2,500 per month to every woman voter via a scheme called Mahila Samridhi Yojana and a Rs 500 subsidy on LPG cylinders. Additionally, the party has promised one free cylinder each during Holi and Diwali.
It has also assured voters that if voted to power, it will continue all welfare schemes which are currently implemented in Delhi. Furthermore, it has promised nutritious meals for Rs 5 at Atal canteens across slum clusters.
Highlighting party’s Mahila Samridhi Yojana, BJP President JP Nadda said, “Under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, every woman in Delhi will receive Rs 2,500 per month. This will be approved in the first Cabinet meeting. Additionally, families using LPG will get a Rs 500 subsidy per cylinder, and on Holi and Diwali, they will receive one free cylinder each.”
Highlighting the Union government’s flagship health scheme, the saffron party has promised to implement Ayushman Bharat. As per the election promise, 51 lakh people will get health insurance coverage for Rs 5 lakh. The party leaders assert that the decision for the same will be taken in the first cabinet meeting itself.

Nadda dubbed the election manifesto as a ‘foundation for a developed Delhi’. He also expressed confidence in winning the upcoming assembly election.
He described the ‘Sankalp Patra’ as an outcome made from the public feedback they received after holding thousands of meetings and getting ideas from constituents.

Addressing reporters, he said, “We have received approximately 1 lakh 80 thousand feedbacks. Discussions were held through 12 thousand small and big meetings and ideas were collected through 41 LED Vans.”
Slamming the ruling party in the national capital, Aam Aadmi Party, Nadda asserted that a BJP government will investigate AAP’s corruption.
The BJP President added, “Their (AAP’s) mohalla clinic is a den of corruption and a programme to hoodwink people. Fraud lab tests have been conducted in his mohalla clinic and a scam of Rs 300 crore has taken place. When our government comes, all these will be thoroughly investigated.”
