While addressing the crowd at an event in Ayodhya, Yogi Adityanath, the firebrand Hindutva leader and CM of Uttar Pradesh took up the strong Hindutva line. He highlighted various civilizational issues including destruction of sacred Hindu temples in the past, situation of Hindu minorities in the neighbouring Islamic countries and importance of Sanatan Dharma for the world.
CM Yogi bashed Mughal apologists residing in the country as “trojan horses”. He stated that Aurangzeb’s descendants now live near Kolkata, working as rickshaw pullers, attributing their fate to the emperor’s actions, including the destruction of Hindu Mandirs and defiance of divine justice.
He said, “I was told that Aurangzeb’s descendants are living near Kolkata, working as rickshaw pullers. Had Aurangzeb not destroyed temples and religious sites, perhaps his lineage would not have faced such a fate.”

Yogi Adityanath pointed to the historical destruction of Hindu temples as evidence of continued challenges to the community’s identity. He specifically mentioned prominent sites such as Kashi Vishwanath, Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura, Sambhal’s Harihar Bhoomi, and Bhojpur, stating, “Temples of Hindus were broken here and made impure.” He also alluded to the Gyanvapi and Sambhal sites by their original Hindu temple names.
The Chief Minister also addressed the struggles of Hindu minorities in neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. He condemned the atrocities faced by Hindus in these regions and emphasized the importance of preserving Sanatan Dharma and its inclusive values. He highlighted the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family), and highlighted the fact that no other religion except Sanatan Dharma talks about the welfare of the whole world.
It must be noted that these remarks by Yogi Aditynath came hours after the RSS Chief, Mohan Bhagwat expressed strong opposition to raising Mandir- Masjid disputes. Speaking at an event, RSS Chief said “After Ram Mandir, some think they can become Hindu leaders by raking up similar disputes in other places. This is not acceptable.”
