Justin Trudeau, don’t even try!

Justin Trudeau, don’t even try!

Meet Justin Trudeau, the man who seems to be playing the role of the ‘oversmart’ frontbencher in the world of international politics. You know the type – the one who always tries to get his classmates punished on flimsy grounds and somehow manages to become the ‘class favorite’ in the process. But here’s the twist: his antics on the global stage are not winning him any popularity contests.

Trudeau’s recent escapades have led him to mess with the classic backbencher of geopolitics, India, and it’s safe to say he’s made matters worse for himself. But this isn’t just about his recent rants against our nation or his attempts to mimic the Ukrainian buffoon named Volodymyr Zelensky.

What we’re witnessing is a novice trying to take on a giant in the field of diplomacy and economics. It’s like watching a fish trying to climb a tree; Trudeau simply lacks the aptitude and talent for this high-stakes game. So, fasten your seatbelts as we navigate through this ‘tussle’ between Bharat and Canada, where sometimes, trying too hard to be the class favorite can lead to disastrous outcomes.

How Bharat is miles ahead

Justin Trudeau’s recent actions, aimed at scolding India over allegations regarding the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar and suspending trade talks, may seem like a bold move to some. But the reality is, if he thinks this will catapult him into the big leagues of global politics, he’s gravely mistaken.

Let’s not forget, we’re talking about India here—a nation that has held its ground and given even the mighty USA a run for their money in recent decades. India’s economic prowess and diplomatic finesse are not to be underestimated.

To put things in perspective, consider the numbers. Trudeau’s suspension of trade talks involved an amount of 8 billion dollars. Now, for a country as vast and diverse as India, that’s almost like pocket change. To give you an idea, our trade dealings with Israel, a nation significantly smaller in both geography and population compared to Canada, amount to almost the same figure. When it comes to Japan, we’re talking about double that amount, at least $17.15 billion in trade. And don’t even get us started on the UK, where our trade reaches a whopping 36.3 billion pounds. And these numbers don’t even account for our dealings with Russia.

Speaking of trade, India’s exports have soared past the $800 billion mark in just the first six months of 2023! In stark contrast, Canada’s exports are nowhere near that league, struggling to even reach $100 billion and witnessing a concerning drop of 3.8 percent in May 2023. So, one might wonder, who exactly is Uncle Trudeau trying to compete with here?

Trudeau’s attempts at flexing Canada’s economic muscles in the face of India’s economic might appear ill-conceived at best. It’s like a small fish trying to challenge a shark in his/ her den! Canada may be a respectable nation in its own right, but in the infinite arena of international trade and diplomacy, there are giants like India who have mastered the game over the years.

Canada: A Royal Mess “messier” than England!

When it comes to economics, India is on a remarkable upward trajectory, defying all odds. It boasts an impressive growth rate of 7.2 percent, signaling a robust economy that continues to expand. Meanwhile, on the other side of the globe, Canada‘s economic growth paints a much bleaker picture, with a meager 0.8 percent growth rate recorded in the final quarter of the 2022-23 fiscal year.

However, Canada’s concerns don’t end there. To put it bluntly, Canada finds itself in a mess even murkier and dirtier than the UK itself. One of the pressing issues plaguing the nation is its housing crisis, exacerbated by its welcoming stance towards immigrants.

According to the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), the average price of a home in Canada soared to a staggering $668,754 in July 2023, marking a 6.3 percent increase from July 2022. This price tag is out of reach for many Canadians and newcomers alike. Things get even more daunting in Ontario and British Columbia, where the majority of newcomers choose to settle, with home prices reaching $856,269 and $966,181, respectively.

But wait, there’s more. Inflation has skyrocketed to nearly 6 percent, putting additional strain on the average Canadian’s wallet. The Trudeau government’s handling of the COVID-19 crisis has left many disillusioned, with a sense of despicability looming over its response.

Adding to this ‘royal mess’ is a long-standing demand for a separate French-speaking nation in Quebec, a sentiment that has been brewing for centuries. Is this why Trudeau is seeking to divert attention toward India? It’s a question worth pondering.

Why is Justin even attempting?

Why, you may wonder, is Justin Trudeau even attempting a battle that seems doomed from the very start? Maybe there’s no cure for megalomania right now, and Trudeau seems to be a big one at that.

Despite facing harsh criticism from his own countrymen for his nonsensical policies and his lack of a clear vision, Trudeau appears unwilling to accept the grim reality. While most leaders aspire to create a lasting legacy, Trudeau seems to be engaged in a peculiar competition, not with visionary leaders, but with the likes of Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky, vying for the title of the biggest dumbo on the global stage.

Trudeau’s recent attempt to antagonize India is a case in point. However, his actions were met with a swift and fitting response from India, which promptly expelled their local intelligence chief in response. But that’s not all; India didn’t stop there. In their latest travel advisory, they equated Canada with Pakistan, urging their citizens to exercise caution while in the country. And if that wasn’t enough of a snub, the royal icing on the cake came in the form of the ‘Five Eyes’ alliance distancing itself from Trudeau’s stance.

Economically speaking, Trudeau’s battle is already a lost cause. Socially, he’s emerging as a sore loser. And diplomatically, he appears to be following the same trajectory as Zelensky, which is, frankly, a good for nothing. So long story short, Mr. Justin Trudeau, why are you even trying?
