Indian actors never rewarded for their impeccable performances!

In the world of Indian cinema, there have been countless actors who have left an indelible mark with their extraordinary performances. These actors have mesmerized audiences with their talent, dedication, and versatility. However, it is disheartening to acknowledge that despite their exceptional contributions to the art of acting, they were never rewarded with the recognition they truly deserved. Here, we shed light on some Indian actors who were unjustly overlooked for their outstanding performances that showcased their brilliance:

Dharmendra:

Dharmendra, a Bollywood icon, showcased his acting prowess in the film ‘Satyakam.’ His portrayal of an idealistic and morally upright man navigating a corrupt society was lauded by critics. Unfortunately, he was never rewarded for this stellar performance. In fact, it wasn’t until he became a producer for ‘Ghayal’, that he was actually recognized for his work. He is one of the rarest Indian actors to have received a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award without even winning the award during his entire career.

Manoj Bajpayee:

Imagine to give it your all-in-one performance, and yet it goes unrewarded. This was probably what Manoj Bajpayee would have felt when he was ignored, despite having given it all in arguably one of his best performances as Inspector Samar Pratap Singh in ‘Shool’. Though Sanjay Dutt was not exactly a bad choice when he received the award for his role in ‘Vastav’, compare that with the role of Inspector Samar Pratap Singh.

Ajay Devgn:

There is one thing common for sure in Manoj Bajpayee and Ajay Devgn. Both have never been given their dues, despite their acting being far superior than their contemporaries. Despite surprising many with impeccable performances in “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”, and even a movie as offbeat as “Raincoat”, Ajay Devgn was never rewarded for any of them. Had it not been for a National Award for his role in “The Legend of Bhagat Singh”, Ajay Devgn would have been in the same club as Dharmendra and Manoj Bajpayee.

Sunny Deol:

However, Ajay Devgn is not the only unlucky guy. Imagine playing roles as memorable as that of Kashi Nath and Tara Singh, and yet not getting any professional acclaim for the same. This was precisely what Sunny Deol had to face, when both his performances in “Ghatak” and “Gadar” were deliberately ignored. Too bad for the award jury!

Abhishek Bachchan:

Abhishek Bachchan’s acting prowess shone in ‘Guru,’ where he portrayed the ambitious and charismatic businessman, Gurukant Desai. Despite delivering a career-defining performance, he was unfortunately overlooked for major awards, possibly due to the lack of recognition for unconventional roles.

Akshay Kumar:

Akshay Kumar’s acting prowess in ‘Airlift’ was undoubtedly a memorable one, as he portrayed a businessman leading the mission to rescue stranded Indians during the Gulf War. Despite delivering a gripping performance, he was unfortunately overlooked for awards. Imagine the irony, when he received a National Award for the same year, but for his role in ‘Rustom’!

Randeep Hooda:

Imagine almost risking your life for a role, and yet never getting any recognition for it. This was what Randeep Hooda suffered, when he gave it his all as the ill-fated prisoner Sarbjit Singh in ‘Sarbjit’, and yet he got no recognition at all!

Sushant Singh Rajput:

Sushant Singh Rajput’s acting prowess in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ was phenomenal as he brought the iconic cricketer’s journey to life. Unfortunately, he was never rewarded for his exceptional performance, possibly due to the prevailing bias against actors from non-film backgrounds and the unpredictability of award selections.

Tabu:

Tabu’s acting prowess in ‘Andhadhun’ was mesmerizing as she portrayed a complex and enigmatic character with flawless precision. Despite her brilliant performance, she was unfortunately overlooked for awards, possibly due to the unconventional nature of the film and the subjective nature of award selections.

Irrfan Khan:

Irrfan Khan’s acting prowess in ‘Karwaan’ was exceptional as he effortlessly blended humor and pathos in his portrayal of a middle-aged man on a road trip of self-discovery. Unfortunately, he was never rewarded for this nuanced performance, possibly due to the limited release of the film and tough competition in the awards circuit.

The aforementioned artists delivered outstanding performances that deserved recognition and appreciation.
