Mithrananthapuram Trimurti Mandir is a temple in Kerala, India. Mithrananthapuram Trimurti Mandir is one such temple in Kerala where devotees can worship all the Trimurtis. This temple is situated on the western side of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple which is in Thiruvananthapuram. Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma as the primary deities of the complex. Lord Brahma is in sitting posture and Lord Vishnu is in standing posture. All the deities face east. Lord Ganesha, Nagraj as sub-deities.
History of this Temple
Earlier Mithrananthapuram Trimurti Mandir was a small unit of Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple. Administrators of the Travancore kingdom used to worship at the temple before taking important decisions. This temple was constructed in the year 1168 AD according to Syanandura Purana.
Historical records reveal that the temple was renovated in the year 1196 AD and some of the land was handed over to the deities in 1344 AD. Again in the year 1748 this temple was renovated by Maharaja Martanda Varma. Earlier, this temple was under the control of Ettara Yogam. Now the temple administration is with the Travancore Devaswom Board. Currently the administration of this temple was jointly supervised by the Travancore and Cochin kings.
