China Kali Mandir Kolkata – Guide
China Kali Mandir is one of the most popular religious places in Kolkata. Located in Chinatown, this popular temple in Kolkata is more than 60 years old. Since then, the Chinese Kali Temple serves as a great example of unity between Hindus and Chinese.
Prior to the present structure, the temple was built under a tree where devotees worshiped a black stone coated with vermilion. An interesting thing to know about this holy place in Kolkata is that the ‘prasad’ offered at the temple is noodles and chopsuey.
History of this Temple
There is an interesting story attached to this must-visit China Kali Mandir in Kolkata. There was a 10-year-old Chinese boy from the surrounding area, who fell so ill that even the doctors were unable to treat him. Losing all hope, his parents made him lie down near an old tree and prayed to God for his good health.
They prayed for many days. One day suddenly a miracle happened; The boy got well. With that miracle, the site became a place of religious importance and since then, it has become one of the important pilgrimage sites in Kolkata, West Bengal.
