Jhandewalan Mandir, Delhi – Guide
Jhandewalan Mandir is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Jhandewali Mata. This temple is located at Jhandewalan Road, Karol Bagh, Delhi, India. This temple is also popularly known as Shri Badri Bhagat Jhande Wala Mandir. This temple is very famous and a symbol of Goddess Shakti. A large number of devotees come to the temple throughout the year to visit the mother. The temple was named during the reign of Shah Jahan when Shah Jahan offered a flag to the goddess as a prayer.
History of this Temple
It is believed that the Jhandewalan Mandir was situated on a hillock. When this place was excavated, the idol of Mata was found from inside the ground, later a temple was built here. It is believed that Badri Bhagat, who was an ardent devotee of Mata, appeared to him in a dream and told him about the idol in the ground. When Badri Bhagat got the idol excavated at this place. But unfortunately at the time of digging, the hands of the idol were broken. According to Hindu scriptures, the worship of a broken idol is prohibited.
That’s why silver hands were made and attached to the idol of the mother. That idol of the mother is still safely established in the temple cave. After this the temple was built here. The original idol of Jhandewali Mata is located at the lower level of the temple. This temple is a religious place for Hindus. People of all castes and religious group worship here.

Bhuli Bhatiyari’s palace
It is the most famous destination in Delhi and is known as a haunted place. The history of Bhuli Bhatiyari’s palace is quite interesting. The story created by the local people is that a queen died inside this palace about 600 years ago and her ghost is seen here in the middle of the night. Others say that a person named Bu Ali Bakhtiari ruled here and the place was named after him which was later known to the people.

Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1650. This Mini Qutub Minar is another ancient minaret which is a miniature version of Qutub Minar. Located in Hastsal village in Uttam Nagar, Delhi, whose original name is Hastsal ki Lat. This place is the royal hunting ground of Shah Jahan. It is believed that the tower was about five stories high. Its height is only 16.87 meters and only three floors are left.
