ISKCON Temple Bangalore- Overview

The ISKCON temple is located in a place called Rajajinagar near Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka. ISKCON is known as the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. It is a Hindu religious organization with temples established all over India as well as abroad.

It is also known as the Hare Krishna movement. The organization follows Gaudiya Vaishnavism. ISKCON was founded with the aim of encouraging the practice of Bhakti Yoga or Krishna consciousness.

History of this Temple

ISKCON Temple Bangalore is the temple of Lord Shri Krishna. This temple was registered in the year 1978 AD as per the Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960. This society was running from a rented house in Bangalore in the year 1987. In the year 1987, the leaders of the society applied to the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) for allotment of land for the construction of a grand temple and cultural complex. The land was allotted on 3rd August, 1988.

The temple’s unique combination of glass and gopurams represents a fusion between majestic traditional styles and new aesthetics. According to an initial estimate, the cost of the temple was Rs 10 crore. Which paved the way for building a temple of astonishing architecture. Six hundred skilled craftsmen spent more than 10 million man-hours to build this architecture.

Place to visit near this Temple

Banashankari Temple

One of the old and famous temples in Bangalore South. Located on Kanakapura road next to Banshankari bus stand and metro station. This temple has been renovated a few years back. This temple looks very big and spacious. There is always crowd on Tuesdays and Fridays, all the devotees worship here with lemon aarti. People have unwavering faith on Banashankari Devi. This temple is situated at a distance of about 20 kms from the ISKCON temple.

Karnataka Painting Council

Chitrakala Parishad is a renowned art school in Bangalore that boasts of an enthusiastic alumni list. The council has a museum, a store and a gallery worth visiting. The gallery and museum here have permanent displays of paintings and crafts. All these pictures come alive during their much-awaited festivities. This Chitrakala Parishad is located at a distance of 8 kms from the ISKCON Temple Bangalore .

Sri Annamma Devi Temple

The temple of Annamma Devi in ​​Bangalore is situated in the centre of the majestic. This goddess is very powerful, who fulfils all our wishes. Whenever you come to Rajasthan, you must visit this temple for darshan. Annamma Devi is the gramadeva for Bangalore, who protects people from all evils and takes care of her devotees. This temple is at a distance of 7 kms from ISKCON temple.

How to reach ISKCON Temple Bangalore

By Air- Nearest airport from ISKCON temple is Kempegowda International Airport Bangalore which is at a distance of 35 kms from this temple. You can easily reach this temple from here by taking taxi or bus.

By Train- Nearest railway station from ISKCON Temple Bangalore is Ambedkar station which is at a distance of about 8 kms from this temple. You can take auto taxi or taxi from here to reach the temple complex.

By Road- You can easily reach ISKCON Temple Bangalore by road, from any city in the state of Karnataka through state transport buses, private buses and taxis.
