The crimes committed by foreigners in the national capital stood at 322 with a skyrocketing increment of 91.6 per cent, as per the last reports published by National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) in 2021. The report illustrates that the greatest number of these violations were perpetrated by African, and Myanmar citizens. The data throws light on the dominance of the African community in carrying out blatant violations of law in the territory of India.
Disgraceful attacks on Delhi Police
Recently, a team of the Delhi Police had been attacked in the Neb Sarai region of South Delhi after they went to apprehend three Nigerian nationals who were staying illegally in India. The three accused had allegedly extended their stay despite the expiration of their visas. Subsequently, the officials of the Delhi Police that went to nab the accused were allegedly surrounded and attacked by a group of 100 foreign nations.
The Delhi Police has claimed that they have sent a narcotics cell team to complete the deportation proceedings against the Nigerians, identified as Kene Chukwu David Williams, Igwe Emmanuel Chimezie, Aziegbe John, and Queen Godwin. The said individuals had been “overstaying” in the country without valid documents. But in a sudden turn of events, the foreign nationals residing in the area allegedly attacked the team and helped the accused escape from the police custody.

As per DCP (South) Chandan Chowdhary, ‘the team was trying to bring them to the police station but suddenly, about 150-200 people from various African countries gathered there and obstructed the team. In the meantime, two of those detained managed to escape. However, one was successfully apprehended later.’
Further, the visual of the crime scene illustrates a group of young men and women clashing with the police officials. While, the officials are seen trying to form a human chain in an attempt to prevent the lathi blows hurled at them during their effort to safely escort the three Nigerians to the nearby station.

African community corrupting Delhi folks
The incident adds to the long list of heinous organized crimes committed by the African community residing in Delhi. The attacks on the officials who had been instructed to initiate drives against foreign nationals staying illegally in the country can be said to be a direct challenge to the sanctity of the law of the land. Further, the citizens of the African community residing in New Delhi have in recent times been accused of running various drugs and money laundering cartels in the National Capital territory, thereby jeopardizing the safety and security of the nation.
On the contrary, the African community has been ranting the foul victim card and has been accusing the Indian authorities of concocted stories of racism. While the ground reality is just the opposite as the Africans have been corrupting the souls of Indian youths.
As per previous reports of TOI, numerous African nationals who visit India on the pretext of getting medical treatment stay back illegally in the nation, even after the expiration of their visas. Further, a good number of these miscreants indulge in drug smuggling, cheating and other illegal activities.

Delhi Police Cracks Open the African Mafia
The magnanimity of the indulgence of foreigners in crimes in New Delhi can be witnessed from the fact that during the covid period owing to the travel bans and lockdowns the number of crimes registered against African nations witnessed a significant downfall. As per the NCRB report, in the year 2020, the year in which covid pandemic struck India, the crimes committed by foreigners stood at 168, in contrast to 322 of 2021.
Evidently, the series of events suggests that the illegal migrants from Africa seem to wage war against the institutionalized scrutiny carried out by the Indian authorities in recent times. As per the records, the South Delhi Police alone has facilitated deportation of over 53 people from African countries that had been apprehended in the last two-three months. Thus, the crackdown of the Indian officials on the established African drug cartels is being portrayed in bad light resorting to foul play of racism and victim card.
