Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tirupati
Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple is situated at a distance of 5 km from Tiruchanur village in Chittoor district near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Another name of this temple is Alamelmangapuram. Beliefs related to Padmavathi Temple Tirupati say that visiting Maa Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple fulfills all the wishes of a person.
It is believed that the wishes of those who visit the temple of Tirupati Balaji are only fulfilled when the devotees visit Sri padmavathi temple along with Balaji and take blessings. There is a sub-temple of Lord Shri Krishna, Lord Balram, Sundarraj Swami, Suryanarayan Swami in the Padmavati temple.
History of this Temple
The history of Padmavati, is related to Tiruchanur village. The historical facts inscribed on the walls of Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple say that earlier the ancient temple of Lord Venkateswara was situated in Tiruchanur village itself. Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple had to be shifted to Tirupati due to overcrowding of devotees at this place. Since then all the rituals started being celebrated in Tirupati only. Due to which the popularity of Tiruchura village decreased.
In the twelfth century, the Yadav king built the beautiful and attractive temple of Krishna-Balram here and this village once again came in the eyes of the people. After this, two more temples were built here in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. One of these was dedicated to Sundara Varadaraja and the other to Goddess Padmavati.
The construction of Padmavati are connected to the sub-temples Krishnaswami and Sundararaja Swami temples present in this temple. The Sri Krishna Swami temple present here was built in 1221 AD. While Sundararaja Swami Temple and Padmavati were built in the 16th century. Sundararaja Swamy Temple is dedicated to Sri Varadaraja Swami and his wifes Sridevi and Bhudevi.

Best time to visit this Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple
The best time to visit this Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple is considered to be Navratri Dussehra, Thepotsavam (boat festival) and in the month of Kartik, when Lord Venkatesh, is believed to send gifts to Goddess Padmavati at this time. Every year on the new moon day of Kartik month i.e. on Deepawali, Lord Venkateswara sends gifts to Goddess Padmavati. This tradition has been going on for years which attracts the tourist in large number.

Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swami Temple
This is a temple dedicated to Lord Sri Venkateswara. It is said that this temple is also known for newly wedded couple. There is always a crowd of devotees in this temple. Also the idol of this temple is about 2 feet bigger than the idol of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala.
Sri Kapileswara Swami Vari Temple
This temple is situated at a distance of about 5 km from the bus stand of Tirupati. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is named after the great sage Kapila. Along with this, this temple is also very popular by the names of Alvar Teertham and Chakrathalvar Teertham.
Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park
This park is located at a distance of about 7 km from Tirupati bus stop. In this park, you can also enjoy the forest, wildlife tour. The opening time of this park is from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. This is a zoological park.
Sri Kalahastiswara Temple
This temple has historical and religious importance, which is a wonderful temple in itself. This temple was established by King Rajendra Chola in the 11th century. Kalahasteeswara Temple is located at a distance of about 40 km from the bus stop of Tirupati.

How to reach this Temple
By Road- Tirupati is 547 kms from Hyderabad and this village is 5 kms from Tirupati. This village is well connected by road. You can easily reach this temple from any part of the country by road.
By Train- There is a small railway station near this temple. You can also take a train from Tirupati Railway Station to reach here. The distance of Padmavati temple from Tirupati railway station is only 5 kms. You can easily cover this distance in just 20 to 25 minutes by train.
By Air – The nearest airport to this temple is Tirupati airport. From here you can easily reach this temple by using local bus or taxi.
