With Arvind Kejriwal coming to light from Anna Hazare’s ‘Satyagrah Andolan’ and quickly becoming a symbol of truth and honesty, to backstabbing the public and his own people within the party helmed by Anna Hazare remains a memorable event in the recent Indian history.
When the politician Arvind Kejriwal entered the political arena of nation, he didn’t come bare handed. He had all the cheat codes with sugar coated lies ready in his toolkit. To mention a few from the ever lasting list of Kejriwal’s promises, he once made ambitious pledges to transform Delhi into a vibrant and modern city. He also promised to provide free Wi-Fi throughout the city, create 8 lakh jobs in five years and make Delhi better than London, Paris and New York. Unfortunately, data shows that he has miserably failed to fulfil more than 75% of his promises. All of this has turned him into a body of lies in the Indian politics today.
Railway ‘tatkal ticket’ is still second toughest thing to get
Arvind Kejriwal is known for his big promises and total hollowness in delivering them. The AAP and Kejriwal have often been credited with introducing the ‘Mohalla Clinic’ concept, which is supposed to have revolutionised healthcare in the city. However, the ground reality is something else altogether.
To put it precisely, its nothing less than a disaster in the health sector. Reportedly, patients have to wait for 3-5 years for a simple MRI and X-Ray test. That sums up the entire story of most hyped ‘Mohalla clinic’ by Delhi government.
According to reports, a major government hospital in Delhi named Lok Nayak Hospital has asked a patient to wait for two years for an MRI. This unprofessionalism by the hospital authorities has forced the patient to knock the doors of the court.
It is an unfortunate and unacceptable situation that a citizen who is trying to get medical care is at the mercy of the cruel clutches of Delhi’s medical model. Leave about supporting the patient, what is most saddening is that the patients are not just left untreated but are ill- treated, harassed and discriminated.
Lok Nayak Hospital refrained from providing a statement regarding the matter. However, a senior doctor from the facility told that it is normal to expect a waiting period of two to three years due to the high volume of patients.
He further added, “The average wait time for a test is 2 to 3 years, and in some cases, the wait may be as long as 5 years. This can be a long time to wait for a diagnosis, so if a patient is in an emergency situation, we suggest that they get tested privately if they are able to afford it. This will help ensure that their treatments are not delayed.”
Fake personality and Fake promises
Now, it’s a matter of no surprise that Kejriwal’s Delhi model has been exposed yet again, just like his true colours. But, to his merit, the man has some magic in his words. He manages to fool people with his false promises of free health, free education and free electricity time and again.
AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s promises are so convincing that even the most sensible people have been tricked into believing them. As they say, “a fool and his money are soon parted.” So, if you’re looking to get something for free, Kejriwal’s Delhi model is definitely the way to go!
After all, it takes a certain kind of genius to turn a city of over 20 million people into an endless cycle of political turmoil, protests and chaos. If anything, we should be thanking Kejriwal for providing us with endless entertainment.
The post-Covid period has been a blessing in disguise for Delhi’s health model, as the number of liquor shops has increased more than the number of hospitals in the city. This has resulted in the citizens of Delhi being able to purchase alcohol at any hour of the day at their convenience. They can now get drunk to forget their worries, sickness, poverty and be convinced that their CM is doing best for them.
Gujarat showed Kerjiwal his place
In an interview with Aaj Tak, Gautam Gambhir recently explained why Kejriwal has not been able to build a single hospital or flyover in his eight year rule. According to Gambhir, the reason behind the disastrous management is that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal chose to use taxpayer money to provide freebies for appeasement. The remaining amount is usually poured in advertisements for AAP.
Recently, in Gujarat’s elections, he attempted to use his “freebies” formula to pull in voters. But the state of the fifth highest tax payers didn’t fall for his ploy making his party suffer a heavy defeat.
The advertisement of the ‘Delhi model’ was at its peak in Gujarat before the election. But the people of Gujarat were smart enough to understand how the Delhi government has failed to deliver on its promises. They understood that AAP has hardly taken any concrete steps to improve the healthcare infrastructure in their ruling state.
The Delhi government has completely neglected in caring of its citizens. The party has lost itself in the greed of making money and fund the election campaign around the nation. AAP and its supremo wants to somehow come to power to repeat their glorious rule wherever they land.
