Sar Tan se Juda: The tried and tested psy-op of Islamists

History and culture help in the overall development of a society. What we read, learn or inherit become the norms that make us behave with people accordingly. Islamists, who have inherited violence from their forefathers, are also showing their true upbringings. Emboldened with their radical religious ideology, Islamists are now on a killing spree.

After Nupur Sharma’s comment on Prophet Mohammed, Islamists have launched lone terror attacks on the Hindu community with the extremist slogan of ‘Sar tan Se Juda’. One after another, whosoever has tried to support her comment is being brutally killed. After the daylight beheading of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur and Umesh Kolhe of Amravati, Islamists have now murdered a third-year engineering student named Nishank Rathore in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh.

20 years old Nishant Rathore killed by Islamist

According to reports, 20 years old Nishant Rathore’s body was recovered from the railway tracks in Obaidullaganj town of Raisen district in Madhya Pradesh. The dead body was found after Nishant’s father, Uma Shankar Rathore, received a WhatsApp message from his son’s mobile that read, “Gustakh-e-Nabi ki ek saza, sar tan se Juda” (Beheading is the only punishment for those who insult Prophet Muhammad).

A story from his Instagram was also uploaded saying, “Gustakh-e-Nabi ki ek saza, sar tan se Juda. Sare Hindu kayro dekh lo agar Nabi ke bare me galat bologe to yahi hsra hoga.”

Talking to India TV, IG Suri said, “We have traced his movements through CCTV cameras right from the time he left his room in Bhopal. At 5.09 pm he was spotted at a petrol pump and he was not accompanied by anyone. The post-mortem has revealed that he died because of coming before a moving train.”

Sar Tan se Juda: The tried and tested psy-op of Islamists

On 21st June 2022, Umesh Kolhe, a chemist and resident of Amravati (Maharashtra), was killed by Islamists for sharing a post supporting the statement of Nupur Sharma. As the investigation of his murder progressed, it is reported that all of the co-conspirators worked in an NGO, and the mastermind of the crime was Sheikh Irfan.

In a similar kind of incident, a Hindu tailor Kanhaiya Lal was also murdered over his post supporting the comment of Nupur Sharma by two Muslim men in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

These attacks, beheadings, threats, or violence by Islamists are the old psy-op of Islamists. Deeply radicalized by their religious thoughts, beliefs, and literature, they have used violent means to advance their ends. The history of Islamists has always been a history of violence.

Everywhere in the world, they have caused destruction. The rigid religious thinking inherited from history has been inculcated and internalized by these Islamist groups. The internalization of religious intolerance have developed the exclusionist idea of existence, which created a conducive environment for violent attacks.

For centuries, Islamists have used violent tools to infuse fear in the mind of Kafirs. The ideas of Jihad, Ummah, and Kafir have been indoctrinated their mind. This religious rigidity has often resulted in mass killings.

This psychological fear of killings has historically been used by the Islamist community to implant their idea of Ummah and bring the rule of Islam. Beheading Kafirs for the simple comment is a tried and tested psychological operation of Islamists to impose the exclusionist idea of religion, while instilling fear.

How will India deal with such Islamist

Every action was once an idea. Similarly, the practicality of Islamist violence starts from the indoctrinated idea. They surround themselves with exclusionist radical ideas and believing them as the only truth with social beliefs, they become rigid.

As the history of Islam is the history of conquest, the court’s scholars of such conquesting rulers used to interpret the religious text on an aggressive line. They used them in motivating their forces to launch constant attacks on foreign territory. Reading these commentaries, ideas, and interpretations of an original religious text, they created a ghettoized environment. They made these medieval writings the source of their Islamic knowledge.

In modern times the territorial boundary of a nation-state was defined along sovereign lines. But Islam, as a religion, remained a borderless idea. Also, the indoctrinated idea of Jihad, Ummah, and Kafirs remained a uniting force for Islamists. Using the doctrine of ‘secular’ and ‘special religious freedom’ for the minorities of countries like India, Islamist advances their radical idea of political Islam.

They created parallel sovereign states based on their religious idea and challenged the authority of actual sovereign states. In India, they forced the secular state to recognize their Sharia law in social governance. They also got privileged treatment from the state to run their religious institutions with secular’s funds.

In a way, they institutionalized ghettoization with state funding, and created their own social, economic, political, and religious policies. Effectively, the rigidity in thoughts was bound to happen, with violence being the result of such systematic Islamisation of a secular state.

So, to break this rigidity and parallel state functioning, governments should adopt a systematic reform policy. Their exclusionist schools like Madarsa should be modernized in line with the modern education system. Religious literature that promotes violence should be banned. Moreover, the privileged given to promote their religion should be rationalized. Organisations that promote enmity and exclusionist ideas must be investigated.

The way forward would be to fulfill the constitutional directive given under Article 44, which is to invalidate the irrational personal laws and create a society based on the democratic principles of liberty, equality, and justice.

Every institution, literature, leader, or idea, which promotes violence in the name of religion, should be treated as an instrument of war and be stopped at any cost. In the state authority, such religious killings cannot be allowed. Strict action should be taken to stop such killings of Hindus. Otherwise, the counter-social unrest will destroy the very foundation of the state.
