Know why RRR omitted Gandhi and Nehru while honoring Sardar Patel as the icon of Gujarat

You must have seen the RRR song ‘Sholay’. It is one song that you shouldn’t miss. The song appears during the end credits of the movie and shows Alia, Ram Charan, and Jr NTR paying tribute to some of the country’s underrated and unsung freedom fighters and heroes. Interestingly, while the song honours Sardar Patel, it did not give tribute to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru. Here is the explanation for the same.

RRR paid tribute to Patel but not Nehru and Gandhi

RRR was released on March 25 this year. It starred Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhatt as the protagonists. The film was a blockbuster and earned a whopping 1000 crores at the box office. A SS Rajamouli direction, the story of RRR was written by his father KV Vijayendra Prasad. In the song titled Sholay, they can be seen paying tribute to Subhas Chandra BoseSardar Vallabhbhai PatelBhagat Singh, Rani Laxmi Bai, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Now, these are the heroes who have been side-tracked systematically by the left-liberal ecosystem. Still, the movie recognises their contribution to the country’s history.

However, it did not pay tribute to the person they call the ‘father of the nation’ and ‘first Prime Minister of India’. People had raised questions that why they have been omitted. Now, a video is going viral on social media, in which Vijayendra Prasad himself can be heard explaining the reason behind it.

KV Vijayendra explains

RRR writer KV Vijayendra Prasad, while explaining the reason, stated, “When the British were about to leave India, there were 17 PCC (State Congress Committee) at that time. Gandhi was the head of the freedom movement. So the British asked him to choose a prominent person from the Congress party to make him the Prime Minister. Gandhi called 17 PCC and asked to choose one as Prime Minister.”

Vijayendra quoted Mahatma Gandhi as saying, “To become the Prime Minister, wearing Khadi is not enough, education is necessary, it is necessary to talk to foreign countries, so my choice is Nehru.”

He further added, “Gandhi asked 17 PCC to write the name of the person of his choice. 15 PCC selected Patel. 1 vote was vacant and 1 voted for Kripalani. If Gandhi had any respect for democracy, he would have chosen Mr. Patel, but because of Gandhi’s inclination towards Nehru, Gandhi formed the 18th PCC (Delhi).”

Vijaynedra did not stop here and went on to explain how Nehru was made the Prime Minister, and it is because of him that Kashmir is still burning.

He stated, “Make Nehru the nominal president and he asked Mr. Patel to take Nehru’s name as the Prime Minister and told Patel that as long as Gandhi was alive, he would not aspire for the post of Prime Minister. Had Patel become the Prime Minister, Kashmir would not have burned like this. I couldn’t find any explanation for this. I have seen a lot about Gandhi, but never got a satisfactory answer. There was a problem with 561 institutions, Patel solved the problem in no time. Patel asked 561 institutions to sign and all signed. Nehru requested Patel to take care of Kashmir himself. He said that he has relation with Kashmiris, but now he sees Kashmir, it is still burning.”

Kashmir has always been an integral part of India but still, it is burning. All thanks to the poor strategies adopted by Nehru and Gandhi. RRR writer minced no words to expose what these leaders have done to our country. Had it been Lal Bahadur Shastri or Sardar Patel, India wouldn’t have suffered the atrocities for so long.
