Madhavan’s directorial debut film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, based on the life of ‘Rocket Scientist’ Nambi Narayanan is being praised nationwide. Actor turned director R Madhavan is also playing the protagonist which is based on the Indian scientist Nambi Narayanan. However, the movie is currently stirring controversy for another reason. Let’s find out what it is?
Why Suriya didn’t say “Jai Hind”?
For those unversed, there are multiple versions of the film Rocketry in different languages. While in the Hindi version, Shah Rukh Khan is playing the guest role, Suriya is playing the same in the Tamil version. While the Hindi film ends with Madhavan and Shah Rukh saying ‘Jai Hind’, in the Tamil version, Suriya just smiles rather than saying it back.
The question here is why an actor who played the protagonist in the movie titled ‘Jai Bhim’ has a problem saying ‘Jai Hind’? Does the actor not consider himself an Indian? What makes the South-Indian actors arrogant enough to avoid speaking ‘Jai Hind’? The nation where they live, the nation which gives them their identity, the nation which made them a superstar and the nation which has been feeding them for so long.
Twitter questions Suriya
The matter was brought to the limelight by Actress cum Politician Gayathri Raguramm who belongs to the BJP party. She took to Twitter and asked Suriya whether he is not Indian. She tweeted, “Suriya played guest role in “Rocketry” movie. In other languages, actors from other industries played the same role as well. In other languages, at the end of heir dialogues, actors are saying “Jai Hind” but why Suriya refused to say “Jai Hind” ?? Is he not an Indian ?? Is there no pride in identifying himself as India ??”
அவர் இந்தியன் இல்லையா? pic.twitter.com/7FBw0urTMO

Soon after she tweeted, Twitter was flooded with questions to slam the actor. A twitter user wrote, “Yes. I saw the movie. I observed that Surya did not say Jai Hind. Very sad. How did Madhavan allowed it to happen? Choice of that actor for that role is not correct and this blemish too. Are there groups openly working against integrity of India in TN and is Surya a party to it?”

Another user wrote “If that is the case, Madhavan is responsible. He could have simply thrown Surya out of Movie and got one who loves India.”
If that is the case , Madhavan is responsible. He could have simply thrown Surya out of Movi and got one who loves India.

Suriya needs to learn from his fellow actor who wears their religion and culture on their sleeves. Moreover, they bleed patriotism. At the trailer launch of Saaho, when Prabhas was asked to say something in Hindi, the actor just replied by saying “Jai Hind”.
Moreover, Nagarjuna too had once tweeted “Jai Hind” to extend his support to Anna Hazare when the latter sat on a protest.
Dravidian missionaries and Tamil Cinema
The actor’s move has led us to worry about increasing dominance of Dravidian ideology in Tamil Nadu. A study by a Chennai think-tank in 2016 had revealed that Tamil Nadu was the most favourable state in India for the growth of Christianity. All thanks to the dissemination of lethal Dravidian ideology and the unholy nexus of Dravidian parties.
It also exposes how Dravidian missionaries are successfully and systematically destroying Hinduism. It is interesting to note that the other Southern States of Andhra/Telangana, Karnataka & Kerala do not identify themselves as Dravidians as much as the state of Tamil Nadu.
The impact of Dravidian ideology is quite visible in Tamil Cinema too. For instance, movies like Mersal, Sarkar, Kaala, Aramm, NGK and so on, have a dedicated space for anti-government scenes to peddle their fake narratives.
Suriya’s Jai Bhim
Mind you, it is not the first time that Suriya has found himself in hot waters, he was earlier in the news when an OTT product titled Jai Bhim had tried to demean the Hindu sentiments.
The movie is based on real-life events of 1990 where a lawyer fought to get justice for a tribal woman. While in reality, the sub-inspector who framed the Irular men and thrashed them was one ‘Anthony Sami’, and he was not from the Vanniyar community, the script was changed conveniently to portray Hindus in a bad light. The police SI, the main villain in the movie, belongs to the Vanniyar community.
When an Indian speaks Jai Hind, it reflects his pride and respect for the country. It seems like Suriya is not really fond of his nation and especially Hindus. Those who cannot respect India, shouldn’t be awarded with the precious love and attention of the public.
