She briefly worked as a television anchor before making the transition to acting in movies. She made her debut in a feature film with the 2006 release of E. V. V. Satyanarayana’s Kithakithalu, which starred Allari Naresh and was a huge commercial success.
She had further appearances in two Telugu movies that same year, including Aganthakudu and Teja’s ensemble piece Oka V Chitram. In 2007, she starred in State Rowdy, a remake of the popular Tamil film Aethiree directed by K. S. Later that year, she made her Tamil cinema debut with the low-budget drama Pazhaniappa Kalloori.
