The establishment of the modern parliamentary form of democracy in India was thought to provide a healthy debate & discussion on policy matters. It gives an equal opportunity for everyone to fight the election, decide the agenda and implement the same. All these processes are fully democratic and realize the cultured & civilized nature of the nation. In the electoral race, some people lose face and in this process use uncultured language against the winning leader in the irritation. Similarly, the opposition, not able to find an alternative to PM Modi has resorted to abusing him in the situation.

Modi Hitler ki maut marega

Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay addressing the party’s ‘Satyagraha’ protest against ED questioning of Rahul Gandhi and Agnipath scheme in Delhi said that “Modi will die Hitler’s death if he follows his path”.

Further, terming his statement against Modi as a general slogan, he said “Ask Narendra Modi, he too must have raised this slogan. It’s a slogan – jo Hitler ki chaal chalega, wo Hitler ki maut marega, Ask him what path he is taking”.

Congress’s derogatory statement against PM Modi

Earlier in 2019, the then Congress leader Hardik Patel had called PM Modi ‘Yamraj’. Addressing a rally in Madhya Pradesh, Hardik Patel said that “this land is the land of farmers and laborers. Why are you all sitting so quietly? Like some Yamraj has come amidst you all. There is one ‘Yamraj’ who is sitting in Delhi, I know that. But he is not here right now”.

During the 2007 Gujarat Assembly elections, the Congress’s monarch, Sonia Gandhi had called PM Modi a ‘Maut Ka Saudagar” (merchant of death). In the election rally of Navsari Gujarat she had said, “those running the government of Gujarat are liars, dishonest, and merchants of death”.

#KCR
Where were you when Sonia Gandhi called a Chief Minister “maut ka saudagar”

when Salman Khurshid called Modi
“Impotent, Frog, Monkey”

Opposing abused #PMModi mother and even asked who his father was

— కౌశిక్ Kauśik (@KaushikUvaca) February 13, 2022

In 2017, diplomat-turned congress politician Mani Shankar Aiyar had once called PM Modi “neech aadmi” and had called him an uncultured person.

#ManmohanSinghInRajkot This Manishankar again spread venom, said Modi a neech aadmi.. Again BJP is winning this time remember chai wala incident… @BJP4India @ZeeNews @abpnewstv @TimesNow @republic @INCIndia @BJP4Gujarat pic.twitter.com/47geGoOwi8

There are hundreds of such instances when PM Modi has been abused by Congress leaders with filthy and derogatory statements. One Congress leader called him a worm of the dirty drain, while another came to call him Gangu Teli, a mad dog, then the other leader gave him the title of Bhasmasur. One of their ministers called him a virus and the other gave him the status of Dawood Ibrahim.

One of Congress’s leaders called him Hitler, while the other called him an unbelievable unworthy son. Not only this, he was called a monkey, rat, snake, scorpion, dirty man, and blood man suffering from Rabies disease.

ModiHiAayega pic.twitter.com/t6naLGoYcM

In 2017, then BJP president and current Home Minister Amit shah listed the term used by Congress had said that “Yamraj, Maut Ka Saudagar, Ravan, Gandi Nali Ka Keeda, Monkey, Rabies Victim, Virus, Bhasmasur, Gangu Teli and Goons. These are some words or phrases Congress has used for PM Narendra Modi in the past. We will continue to serve 125 crore Indians.

Yamraj
Maut Ka Saudagar
Ravan
Gandi Nali Ka Keeda
Monkey
Rabies Victim
Virus
Bhasmasur
Gangu Teli
Goon
These are some words or phrases Congress has used for PM @narendramodi in the past. Not much has changed. We wish them well. We will continue to serve 125 crore Indians.

— Amit Shah (Modi Ka Parivar) (@AmitShah) December 7, 2017

Congress’s derogatory statement against a democratically elected leader is not only problematic to the health of a mature democracy like India but this dilutes the room for a healthy debate on policy matters. In the echoes of these filthy terms, the main issue of discussion becomes invisible and the counter filthy statement takes the course. Congress must put all these leaders in line with the democratic and constitutional norms and the opposition to a leader must not resort to abusive statements.
