How strangely ‘Fascism’, ‘Secularism’ and ‘Freedom of Speech’ are defined in India. On one hand Lord Shiva is demeaned in the most atrocious manner possible while facts attract the wrath of Islamists and real ‘Fascists’. The controversies around the case of alleged blasphemy by Nupur Sharma highlight that. Also, tweets critical of Politicians put innocent people behind the bar. But rallies organised to give direct threats and call for beheading someone invites no penal actions. Rather it attracts laurels from the so called secular gangs of India.
Diabolical rule in West Bengal
It seems that the West Bengal government has different yardsticks for Hindus and Muslims. Hindus seem to have no protection for their basic Human Rights while Islamists are let loose to carry out acts of barbarism. Evidently, Islamic mob vandalised the house of a Hindu girl, Aishwini for her alleged Facebook post. The fanatic mob didn’t stop there, they demanded her arrest.
Knowing that there will be no penal actions against them, the Islamist mob had the audacity to attack Police Station in her area. The mob hurled stones at Beldanga Police Station endangering the life of Police personnel. Police were forced to use tear gas to control the frenzied Islamists mob.

Later the Police arrested Aishwini in connection to her comments on Facebook where she allegedly asked people protesting against the controversial religious remarks to ‘leave the country’.

The Police officer informed the media regarding her arrest. Officer said, “After we received a written complaint from them, we arrested her. Necessary investigations are underway”. She was sent to six days of Judicial custody for her alleged social media post.
Islamic Cleric leading the frenzied mob
The arrest of Hindu girl, Aishwini reflects that Hindus cannot even express their feelings on social media platforms. An alleged anguished post at the spree of violence by Islamists mob sent her behind bars. Contrary to that, the Islamists mobs have been given a free pass to create anarchy and mayhem. One Muslim cleric in a viral video made a mockery out of the ruling government as well. In the video he reminds CM Mamata Banerjee that ‘CM post is the alms given by Muslims to her’.

He asked CM Banerjee if everyone has the right to express themselves then why the Imams should not have this right. Is it justified in a civilised society to ask for beheading someone in the name of freedom of expression?
Instead of taking legal actions the Bengal government seems to be sympathetic to these fanatics. As the CM herself had publicly urged the protestors (rioters) to do it in some BJP ruled states instead of stopping this mindless violence. This tragic and hippocratic situation in West Bengal can be optly summarised by these lines by Akbar Allahabadi – हम आह भी करते हैं तो हो जाते हैं बदनाम ; वो क़त्ल भी करते हैं तो चर्चा नहीं होता. (Roughly translated as – I do suffer slander, when I merely sigh. They get away with murder as nobody mentions it.)
It should be known that violence, death threats, anarchy and bloodshed can have no moral and legal justification. Communal rallies giving death, beheading threats and violent protests should be dealt with in the strictest way possible.
Also, Law should be used without political biases and the Aishwini should be given proper legal help. As everyone deserves a chance to have a fair trial.
These double standards of the Mamata government for Hindus and Muslims have to end. The appeasement of radicals will benefit no one in the long run.
