Suchitra Pillai is an Indian actress, model, anchor, and VJ who was born on August 27, 1970, in Ernakulam, Kerala, India. She is an electronic engineering graduate who chose to pursue a career in the arts over science. Career
Suchitra Pillai was passionate about theatre when she was at school in Mumbai, but she went on to study electronic engineering. She moved to London shortly after, where she worked in a children’s theatre. In 1993, she was offered her first acting job in the French film Le prix d’une woman. She also did a role in the English flick Guru in Seven.
After that, Pillai returned to Mumbai and got hired as a veejay. Suchitra Pillai originally appeared in an Apache Indian music video before appearing in Bally Sagoo’s “Dil cheez hai kya” video. Simply South, Red Alert, Hip Hip Hurray, Beintehaa, Rishta.com, and Cabaret Cabaret are some of her television credits.
Pillai can be seen in the 2016 Hollywood picture The Other Side of the Door and the 2017 independent film The Valley, for which she received Best Actress at both the Long Island International Film Festival and the Milan International Filmmakers Festival in 2017.
