Pakistan is always in news for gruesome incidents which range from brutal killing to poor medical infrastructure for women. The consistency with which these cases appear raises questions about Pakistan. Can a territory function with these heinous cases becoming a danger to the lives of its own people?
The awful incident reported in Pakistan left a woman in danger
Recently, a ghastly incident has caused the world a sense of trauma. A staff of the Rural Health Centre (RHC) in Pakistan’s Sindh province has severed the head of a newborn child. The 32-year-old woman who was delivering the newborn was left in a life-threatening situation after the RHC staff left the head of the child inside the mother’s womb.
Professor Raheel Sikander, the head of the gynaecology unit of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) in Jamshoro has said, “The Bheel Hindu woman, who belongs to a far-flung village in Tharparkar district, had first gone to a Rural Health Centre (RHC) in her area but with no female gynaecologist available, the inexperienced staff caused her immense trauma.”
He also stated that the staff had left the head of the newborn inside the women’s womb. Further, when the woman faced a life-threatening situation, she was immediately taken to the nearby hospital in Mithi where there were no facilities available for her. Eventually, her family took her to LUMHS where the rest of the body of the newborn was taken out of the mother’s womb which finally saved her life.
Professor Sikander expressed the macabre incident by saying that the baby’s head inside the mother’s womb caused her uterus to fracture and they were left with the option to open up her abdomen surgically to take the head out to save the woman’s life.

The probe is on, only after it was highlighted
Only after this news went viral did the Pakistani authorities intervene and further ordered to form a medical examination board to investigate the matter.
This horrifying case prompted Dr. Juman Bahoto, Director-General of Sindh Health Services, to order separate inquiries into the case. He said that the inquiry committee will clarify what actually happened, the absence of a gynaecologist and female staffers at the RHC. The probe will also look into the reports of the trauma that the woman had to suffer when her video was taken when she was lying on the stretcher.
Dr. Juman said, “Apparently, some members of the staff took her photos on a mobile phone in the gynaecology ward and shared those pictures with different WhatsApp groups.”
Such spine-chilling incidents are not new to Pakistan
It’s pathetic to know that such incidents still happen in the modern world, where people are well equipped with knowledge and equipment to make the childbirth process easy, comfortable, and less painful. But the reality stands at a different stature. The person who brings the future population into existence is in danger of getting killed by the saviours of human lives. Acts of negligence like these are an act of shame to the entire human evolution.
However, Pakistan is not new to these kinds of acts. There has been a long-listed history of Pakistan naming these dreadful acts under its jurisdiction. Women’s safety, rape cases, implementation of democracy, the killing of innocent Hindus, bombarding of civilians, and many more places Pakistan under the ambit of human rights violators.
Not surprising that it came from Pakistan
But, these kinds of events are nested inside Pakistan’s polity. It’s built right into its founding doctrine. Pakistan and Islamists are the two terms getting nasty for the world to survive.
An instance of this was conducted by Islamists themselves during the Kashmir exodus where hoards of innocent human lives were brought to death just for the sake of establishing a horrendous regime. During the same time, various women were forced to meal their own family’s blood-soaked grains.
Islamists have time and again tortured human lives by killing millions of people irrespective of their age. The fake proclamation of peace and respect for human lives by Islamists lays the reality which they are unable to sugar-coat.
Aligning such negligible cases and killing of innocents under Pakistan is just maintenance of the history that Islamists have portrayed so far. It’s another repeated heinous incident picturising the safety of women in Pakistan.
