Congress seems to have receded into a shell. For it, any new defection or point of introspection is worthless. For it, problems created by the top brass are being swept under the rug but not rectified. It is shamelessly carrying on with the same level of lethargic tendencies, appeasement politics and ungrounded opinions about Hindutva and more. It has given up the party command to persons who are liabilities, to say the least, of course, we are talking about the Gandhis. The new punching bag in politics, that is, the dilapidated Congress, has now gotten bruises from a political nobody called Hardik Patel.
‘Political Nobody’ Hardik Patel smacked Congress like a bell
India has multiple times seen the planted stories that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is coming of age and will bring the party’s lost glory. For that, a lot of buzz was created around team Rahul. The leaders of the same team one after the other had tattered the party and ‘Yuvraj’ Gandhi for his utter failures and living in his own lost paradise. Now it is the turn for the one-day wonder boy Hardik Patel to completely rip apart the party, functionaries and its princely ways of doing things.

On 18th May after incessantly exposing the Congress party from within, Hardik Patel through his Twitter handle resigned from the sinking ship of Congress. Of course, Hardik Patel is a politically-dead leader and is doing everything possible for his political revival. His efforts to woo the saffron party by becoming a devout Hindu has no takers at all. But the interesting thing is that Congress has grown so weak that a political nobody like Hardik Patel is taking potshots at the grand old party.

In his letter, Patel didn’t hold his punches back at all and metaphorically beat the Congress party leadership black and blue. He accused Congress of working against the interest of India. He blamed Congress for indulging in mindless opposition and becoming a roadblock in major policies of national interest. According to his claim, the party leaders find themselves more amused in trivial things like Mobile surfing rather than hearing ground workers/leaders’ opinions. He took potshots at the party leaders’ foreign trips at wrongful times.

pic.twitter.com/MG32gjrMiY

What is most fascinating to see is that he accused the state Congress leadership of ignoring workers’ feedback and focusing more on pleasing the masters who arrived from Delhi. He said,” (they) are more focussed on ensuring that Chicken Sandwich for leaders who have come from Delhi is delivered on time!”.

He expressed his remorse and claimed that whenever he went among the youth of the state, he was questioned for his political affiliations because of the anti-Gujarati stand of Congress. He lambasted the Congress for insulting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He also levelled charges of corruption against state leadership and even accused the party leaders of hating India, the Patidar community, Gujaratis and youth.
Once the top Political Force, Congress now getting beatings from every tom, dick and harry
The country once heard the slogan, India is Indira and Indira is India. Of course, that was sheer arrogance but still, it can be understood that the Congress party was the only major political pole in the country for nearly six-seven decades. The party in a way made all the major decisions for the country. Although the efficacy of its decisions is debatable, we are only seeing the downfall of the grand old party. Cut to today’s time, the darling of the party, their leader Yuva Rahul Gandhi has taken the party to its nadir. It has become a matter of mockery with defections, internal mud-slinging and howling at each other like the famous rebel group G23.

It is disheartening to see that the country lacks a credible opposition. Congress no longer seems to be committed to general public causes rather it is working for the fulfilment of Prince’s fantasies. Although the Yes-man coterie around the top brass has caused this catastrophic decline, the party leaders have continuously patted their backs. Hence, instead of hoping for a change in the grand old party, keep scrolling the Twitter feed of Congress leaders for some lighter moments.
