Can you imagine that in a nation called ‘Hindustan’, a student can be denied education only because he is a Hindu? Can you imagine that in a nation where majority is Hindu, a person can be denied job only because he follows Sanatan Dharma? Can you imagine that a student of a private university could be dismissed because he respects his country and speaks against anti-national activities?
Well, this is exactly what has happened in our nation India. This is exactly what has happened in a metro city of the country. This is exactly what has happened in a big private university named Azim Premji University.
A “Brahmin guy” suspended
Rishi Tiwari, a resident of Ballan village in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, is currently pursuing Post Graduation (Post Graduation) at Azim Premji University, Bangalore. Earlier, as a student of Banaras Hindu University, his hard work and talent took him to the big university of Bangalore but little did he know that the so-called grand Azim Premji University will punish him for being a staunch nationalist and Hindu.
Rishi Tiwari claimed that he has been facing discrimination since the beginning. Why? Well, the only mistake done by Rishi Tiwari is that he, unlike, other students, is an ex-student of Banaras Hindu University and believes in Hindutva. Rishi has also revealed that some professors dislike Rishi only because of his surname ‘Tiwari’.
Rishi Tiwari shared his agony while interacting with TFI. He informed TFI that an incident has recently taken place that has completely changed his life. Rishi Tiwari has been suspended by Azim Premji University. He is alleged to have locked horns with a Muslim student and has thrown food at him. What is more disappointing is that the management didn’t even hear what Rishi had to say before suspending him.
The truth behind whole incident
The Azim Premji University administration handed Rishi a notice of dismissal and banned his entry in the university campus. Imagine yourself living in a hostel hundreds of kilometers away from your home in another state and that too, bans your entry. How’re you going to survive? Where will you stay? Where will you sleep? What will you do?
The Azim Premji University administration is least concerned for human life or a Hindu life to be specific. Now, let us tell you the truth about what actually happened.
According to Rishi Tiwari, the placements were going on and he was still waiting for his turn. A student named Shadman came to him and began abusing him saying that “I am earning as much as you will not earn even after placement.”
On May 1, Rishi went out to have some snacks from the shop outside. Since he was neither carrying cash or a phone, he asked Shadman to pay and said that he will return the money in the hostel. Shadman refused to pay.
Rishi replied, “Shadman, you were saying that you earn as much as I will not earn even after placement. Now you don’t have any money. Your words do not match your actions. Learn how to talk to someone.”
Rishi informed TFI that he, then, returned to the hostel. At around 8.45 pm, 8-10 students gathered to abuse and beat him. Then, on May 2, some professors and students protested against him inside the Azim Premji University campus.
Tiwari revealed that he is being trapped in a fake case for allegedly throwing food on a Muslim student’s face and spitting on him. Without paying any heed to Tiwari’s side, some students and professors of the Azim Premji University have accused him of ‘Islamophobia’ over allegedly mocking a Muslim student.
He states that there was a concerted effort to paint him ‘Hindu plaintiff, Islamophobic, Sanghi, and staunch Hindu’.
Why is Rishi being targeted?
In a conference organised by the Azim Premji University last year over titled “Is India Still a Secular Country?”, French Political Scientist Christophe Jafrellote (a biased scientist with a negligible understanding of Indian Politics) was invited as a guest lecturer. According to Tiwari, the session turned into ‘defaming the BJP government and Hinduism’. He and his friend asked questions to Jafrellote. The facilitator of the session thus filed a complaint against the students and the university organized a special committee to investigate the matter.
Tiwari and a couple of his friends began to be targeted for being Hindu. The students were publically called ‘Sanghi’, ‘spokespersons of the BJP’, and ‘members of BJP IT cell’. “If I’m having faith in my identity and belief in the Hindu religion, it isn’t a crime. Having ideological differences doesn’t mean that I have to pay so much in the form of my degree and job. No justice is being done to me by the university,” he noted.
The student levelled some serious allegations on Azim Premji University saying that whenever the map of India is shown, POK and ‘Aksai Chin’ are never a part of it.
The student is only being ridiculed for having a pro-nation stance. Is it justified? As far as the students and professors are concerned, it is wrong to turn a brawl into a Hindu-Muslim conflict. Even if they did, they should have paid heed to Rishi’s side too.
