The politics of appeasement is evident in tackling the sensitive security concerns of the state. While governments led by BJP like that by Yogi and Shivraj have zero-tolerance towards Islamic radicals and arrested them without delay, the MVA government, for appeasement politics, appoints aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in Waqf Board.
BJP led Government’s Zero-Tolerance towards Islamic Radicals
In a recent development, Madhya Pradesh ATS has arrested six suspected terrorists from Bhopal’s Aishbagh. According to Narottam Mishra, the state Home Minister, MP Police conducted a special operation in which four terrorists belonging to banned Terror-outfit Jamat-e-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were arrested.
The names of four suspected terrorists are identified as Fazhar Ali, Md Aqueel, Zahooruddin and Fazhar Zainul. All the four are native of Bangladesh as per the communique of the MP Police. Amongst them, the two suspected terrorists were arrested in a surprise operation while the other two were arrested from Karond area, after the security agencies got leads from the detained alleged terrorists.
Many incriminating documents, jihadi literature, electronic gadgets and documents linking them to JMB were found with them during search. The JMB has been banned by the centre in 2019 under the UAPA because of its involvement in 2014 Burdwan blasts, claiming lives of two innocent civilians. Two more local youths suspected of harbouring and providing logistical support were arrested the next day by MP ATS. They too are charged with UAPA and further questioning is on.

Meanwhile, The UP ATS has cracked down on terror modules in the hotbed of radicalization Deoband. The two suspected youth are said to be natives of Bangladesh and Myanmar. CDR of their mobile numbers has revealed links with Pakistan. According to IG ATS GK Goswami the two youths were picked up on suspicion of anti-national activities and have been released after questioning while the investigation is on full swing. Indifference or Appeasement by MVA Government
The Leader of Opposition and Former CM Devendra Fadnavis on the floor of Assembly levelled serious concerns over appointment of Dawood aide Mudassir Lambe in Waqf Board. Fadnavis said that Lambe is facing rape charges and was in constant contact of Mohammad Arshad Khan, who’s Father-in-law was a close aide of dreaded criminal and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, prime accused in the Black Friday attacks of 1993.
Mr. Fadnavis has submitted a pen drive containing audio clip of this infamous duo Khan and Lambe. Mr. Khan is already in jail. Moreover, it is interesting to note that the Minister-in-charge of Minority Affairs, which is the parent ministry to overlook Waqf Board, is Mr. Nawab Malik, arrested by ED in serious cases of money laundering.
PM Modi’s agony against ‘ecosystems’ protecting ‘Corrupts and Mafia’
Even BJP’s biggest leader PM Modi has shown his commitment against mafias and corrupts. Recently, in a victory speech after winning four out of five state elections, PM Modi has displayed his anguish over ‘ecosystem’ shielding corrupts and mafias by giving action against them, religious, caste or state colour . PM urged the people to outcast such “corrupt and mafia” to strengthen society and community.
While the stark difference is crystal clear and situation seems to be badly handled in some opposition led states, we only hope that our central government along with its investigating agencies and judiciary breaks the backbone of these nefarious Mafia-Neta nexus for the overall safety and security of our country.
