Amidst many previous accusations, Devendra Fadnavis submitted 125 hours of “evidence” against the MVA government in the state assembly, levelling charges of framing the opposition.
MVA governance disasters
The MVA government since its inception has been in a negative light for its misdeeds like handling of SSR case, Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia Bomb Scare fiasco,100 crore extortion charges against then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, levelled against him by the then Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, being the highlights of many more such events.
The opposition led by Former CM and Leader of Opposition (LOP) Devendra Fadnavis has been working hard to unearth what the opposition calls ‘scams’ and ‘misuse of state machinery.’ All these events are forcing the MVA government to be on the brink of fall and emergency meetings of CM, Ministers and Senior Police officials have been happening as a regular affair.
Fresh Accusations of Opposition
Devendra Fadnavis and MVA government ministers have been at loggerheads for a long time now and multiple Bomb jibe has been exchanged amongst them. Amidst many accusations and counteraccusations of ‘misuse of agencies’ and ‘framing’ in fake cases, for political vendetta, Devendra Fadnavis has dropped a fresh attack in State Assembly, submitting a pen drive containing 125 hours of audio and video evidence to the speaker of the house and requested CBI enquiry in the case.
The Pen Drive
As per LOP, in the pen drive submitted by him, Special Public Prosecutor Pravin Chavan can be seen and heard cooking conspiracies with senior officials to frame 6-7 BJP leaders in fake Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) and other such cases. Fadnavis claimed that in one such video footage Pravin Chavan is discussing the meetings held at the highest level from CM to State DGP and Police Commissioner, to charge Girish Mahajan under MCOCA.
The opposition through social media has released several videos claiming it has proof against Chavan of proper planning, from planting a knife to applying blood to the neck, the possible way to conduct a raid against BJP leader Mahajan and planting evidence to ensure MCOCA against Mahajan.
Impact & The MVA government panic response
After damping accusations by Former CM, Devendra Fadnavis, the home minister of state Dilip Walse Patil announced that he has asked Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to probe all the claims made by Fadnavis. He also said that “sting operations” will also be probed, the alleged conspirator Pravin Chavan has resigned as a special public prosecutor and further actions will be taken after CID findings.
The opposition also claims that the government now wants to pressurize them and Fadnavis has been enquired by BKC cyber cell in an old case, in which he was the witness. Fadnavis claimed that he was not treated as a witness; rather the attempts are being made to implicate him as accused or co-accused.
