Rahul Bose is an Indian actor, director, screenwriter, and social activist who was born on July 27, 1967. Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, Kalpurush, Anuranan, Antaheen, Laptop, and The Japanese Wife are among the Bengali films in which Bose has appeared. Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam, Jhankaar Beats, Kucch Luv Jaisaa, Chameli, and Shaurya are among his Hindi films. Rahul Bose short biography
On July 27, 1967, Rahul Bose was born in Kolkata, India, to Rupen and Kumud Bose.
Bose had his first acting part when he was six years old, in a school play called Tom, the Piper’s Son. He became interested in sports as a child after his mother introduced him to boxing and rugby union. He also played cricket, and cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was his coach.
After his mother died in 1987, Bose went to work for Rediffusion as a copywriter, eventually rising to the position of advertising creative director. After the release of his first film, English, August, Bose resigned his job to pursue acting full-time.
Education
He is a graduate of Mumbai’s Cathedral and John Connon School. Bose entered Sydenham College after being rejected by a number of American universities. He was a member of the college’s rugby team and competed in the Western India Championships in boxing, receiving a silver medal.

Anuradha Bose, his older sister, is married to Tariq Ansari, the owner and director of Mid-Day Multimedia. Everybody Says I’m Fine! featured her in a cameo role.
In July 2019, Bose complained about being charged $442 for two bananas at the JW Marriott in Chandigarh, causing a social media uproar and gaining him a lot of publicity. Rahul Bose was a member of India’s first national rugby team, who competed in the Asian Rugby Football Union Championship in 1998. He has experience as a scrum-half and a right-winger. Bose confirmed his departure from the team for the 2009 season in an interview with Daily News & Analysis.

Activism
After the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, Bose helped with relief efforts in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Bose’s NGO, The Foundation, developed the Andaman and Nicobar Scholarship Initiative as a result of his efforts. The scholarship programme helps poor youngsters from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands get an education.
Teach for India, Akshara Centre, Breakthrough, Citizens for Justice and Peace, and the Spastics Society of India are among Bose’s philanthropic organisations. He is closely involved with the Teach For India movement, which aims to eliminate educational disparity in India. In 2007, he also became the first Indian global ambassador for Oxfam.
Rahul Bose is the founder and chairman of The Group of Groups, a Mumbai-based umbrella organization representing 51 philanthropic and non-governmental organizations. He also represents the American India Foundation, the World Youth Peace Movement, and Planet Alert as an ambassador.

Rahul Bose was also a strong supporter of the Narmada Bachao Andolan’s efforts to stop the dam’s construction. He also recorded the audio book Goodgoodi karna, gale lagana; Sparsh ke niyam sikhiye (English: Tickle and hugs: Learning the Touching Rules) for Terre des hommes, which is intended to provide children with resources to help them avoid sexual assault.
Bose has presented talks about gender equality and human rights at Oxford and at the World Youth Peace Summit in 2004.
In 2009, he toured Canada with the Climate Action Network, educating on global climate change and protesting with demonstrators at the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit. In 2011, he collaborated with Bhaichung Bhutia to raise donations for earthquake victims in Sikkim.
