Controversy of IPS Anand Mishra
IPS officer and SP of Nagaon Anand Mishra had been criticized by opposition in an incident where Nagaon Police shooted at a former student leader Kirti Kamal Bora. Mishra said- “Police obtained information that some riders were selling drugs, according to the preliminary investigation. When two police officers in civilian clothing arrived on the scene, this particular child inquired if they were law enforcement officers. When they said yes, the accused struck one of them with his helmet, injuring him.
A backup police unit stationed nearby arrived and attempted to subdue him, but he continued to attack them. When they didn’t have any other choice, officers opened fire on his leg. He was found to be in possession of eight vials of heroin.”
His family, friends, and political opponents, on the other hand, called the police version of the affair “false.” And many opposition leaders and student union leaders cited their disappointment on the issue. However the actual incident has not been stated in the public domain.
