She began her work as a fashion and advertising photographer before moving to India in 2012 to photograph some of India’s most famous actors for foreign magazines and companies. Toranj began studying with an American acting instructor while in Mumbai, with the idea of returning to North America and pursuing acting full-time.
Despite her lack of Indian ancestry, Toranj was cast in Indian films and acquired a variety of languages to support her parts. She’s performed in English, Persian, Hindi, Pashto, and Urdu, among other languages.

Toranj Kayvon started my career as a fashion photographer 14 years ago and then hopped over to the other side of the lens and started acting.
She was a well-known celebrity photographer who took photographs of Shahrukh Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapse Pannu, Alia Bhatt, and others. Kayvon made her acting debut in the mystery film We Didn’t Kill. In the year 2018, Mia took on the role of Natasha.
In the year 2019, she starred alongside Akshay Kumar in the historical action-drama film Kesari as Gulwarien, a major role. The film is based on the remarkable and actual Battle of Saragarhi, in which a 21-man Sikh army defeated 10,000 Afghans in 1987. She made her digital debut in 2021 with Disney + Hotstar’s The Empire.
