Assembly elections are going to be held in 5 states of the country. Political parties are fiercely engaged in their preparations. The nationalist leaders like Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and UP CM Yogi Adityanath have also geared up to woo voters and bring them into the BJP’s fold. However liberals are fuming with rage over the statements by the two leaders.
Himanta and Yogi’s warning
Slamming AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s communal politics, Himanta recently stated that “His name and mark would soon be wiped off from India.” He also said, “There is no one who can stop India. The way Article 370 was scrapped, Ram Mandir’s construction began…here also Nizam’s name and mark, and Owaisi’s name and mark will be wiped off…that day is not very far. India has woken up. It will no longer accept people who do pseudo-secularism or communal politics.”
Additionally, CM Yogi also referred to the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh as an “80 versus 20 battle.”
“80 per cent is those who are supporters of nationalism, good governance and development. Such people will vote for the BJP and those who are against this and supporters of mafias and criminals, anti-farmer and village, such 15-20 people will take a different path. So, in this 80-20 fight, it is the lotus that will show the way,” the Chief Minister said.
Liberals’ delicious meltdown
A Twitter handle with the name @Akhmakh_kaeshur tweeted, “Normalisation of violence against #Muslims in #India Chief minister of Indian state of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma talks in a public rally in Warangal, Telangana about wiping off of Muslims, their symbols and history and reluctance to secularist politics.”

Dr Udit Raj, Chairman of Unorganized Workers & Employees Congress (KKC), also tweeted, “CM Yogi says that election in UP is 80% v/s 20 % . He is trying to pitch Hindus against Muslims. What the Election Commission is doing ? @INCIndia.”

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh also seemed to be fuming. He stated that it was a violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
Reacting to the statement, he said, “Wake up and show some Spine Hon Chairman and Members of Central Election Commission. Just watch what Yogi and their Ad campaign are projecting.”

TRS party leader Kavitha Kalvakuntla tried well to humiliate Assam CM but failed brutally. She tweeted, “@himantabiswa Ji, your remarks today once again restated the intent of BJP to erase the glorious history of Telangana. I wonder, why you & your party are so threatened with idea of unity? Did you forget the verdict of Telangana in 2018, where BJP lost deposits on 107 seats.”

The liberals’ meltdown on these statements, however, did not come as a surprise. they need to be ‘sympathised’ as they are having a hard time.
