K Onler Kom: Bio, Career and His Sacrifice for Mary Kom

K Onler Kom is the Husband of Mary Kom and he has been termed as the most supporting husband in the world by Mary herself. He is also the Managing Director of Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation since 2006.

While it is commonly said that behind every successful man there is a woman who helps his career take off, the opposite is true here.

Education

He did his schooling from James Memorial School in Shillong. K Onler Kom also did his Higher Secondary Education from KPI Mission School. Onler studied law at the University of Delhi.

K Onler Kom Family

He lives in Imphal, Manipur with his family. He has three children with Mary Kom and they are a happy family. Onler is very supportive to his family and after every success Mary thanks her husband for his support. Mary Kom is the mother of two twins, Rechungvar and Hupneyvar.

In Delhi, on her way to the Punjab National Games in 2001, she met Onler. At that moment, like a knight in shining armor, Onler entered her life.

At the time, Onler was the President of the Northeastern Student Community in Delhi. K Onler Kom was the head of the Northeast Student Corps in Delhi when he first met Mary. As president of the Northeast Delhi Student Union, Onler offered Mary all the help she could get. Mary was worried at first, but then she saw Onler’s sincerity.

She was lucky to be accepted into school; her father, who was himself a wrestler in his youth, encouraged her to play sports, mainly athletics. Most of all, however, his parents, especially his father, Tonpa Kom, despised boxing.

Onler was his constant companion as she struggled, returned from childbirth and became the most successful boxer ever, winning six world championships.

K Onler Kom A supportive Husband

In 2011, when Mary Kom competed in the Asian Cup, Onler took care of her son K. Hupneyvar when he had to undergo surgery for a congenital heart defect.
