DigiThane is one of Thane Municipal Corporation’s Official handles for the dissemination of genuine information on City, Emergencies & Govt Updates. Broadly it is a part of Smart City project of the Government of India and state government.
Thane Municipal Corporation’s DigiThane mobile app has been recognized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) as the most digital urban project.
Launched in January 2018, the app has been downloaded by over 2 million people and implemented by Thane Smart City Limited.
In addition to constant updates, alerts and other benefits, DigiThane allows for numerous engaging surveys that tell Thane citizens what they need. The app was downloaded about 1,000 times in the first few minutes after launch, making Thane the first municipal corporation in India to launch the concept, replicating the concept of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel. The lakeside city has surpassed Mumbai in creating this digital interactive platform for residents.

The DigiThane initiative has been welcomed by the people of Thane and they have showered their love on twitter too. The official twitter account of DigiThane has been followed by more than 23k people. DigiThane On Playstore
The DigiThane app has been downloaded over 100k times from Google Playstore and more than 1k people have given their feedback on the platform. Despite large investments and tie up with the Israeli technicians the app is not working properly, according to customer reviews.
Israel and Thane working together
On June 2, at a meeting between Municipal Commissioner Tane Sanjeev Jaiswal and Consul General of the Israeli Consulate, David Akov, it was decided to launch the DigiThane application. Under this agreement, Israel will assist Tanya with technical issues such as application development and program implementation.

Registration and management of DigiThane
This registration is limited to Tang citizens aged 16 and over. The Digi-Thane portal was slow to start, but TMC reported that there were over 1.80 lakhs of Thane residents registered on the app. The company paid Rs 22 crores to the agency managing the Digi Thane project.
He also said the administration is vigilant and all emergency services are in place. That number is still less than the five or six thousand people TMC expected. Davhare knows the relationship must be successful in ministry by January 27th, and the good president of the Metropolitan Mission, Kunal Kumar, sent a letter to the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra on January 6th. The smart water meter project was not a success, while the Digi-Thane project has spent several million rupees and residents have not yet fully utilized the facility.

At the same time, Digicard can also be used to pay for various services and receive discounts only in certain retail outlets of the city. In addition, residents can also take advantage of discounts offered by merchants including hotels and real estate throughout the city.
