Twitter has a rather flagrant history of censoring free speech, especially of conservatives, who are most pronounced in their opposition to Islamists. The social networking site silences the voices of right-wing influencers as it claims to be a promoter of non-violence and non-political organization. In an attempt to peddle the liberal agenda, Twitter has once again vindicated its hypocrisy as it suspended an account named “Stories of Bengali Hindus.”
Twitter’s move to peddle the liberal agenda:
On the 1st of December, a Twitter account with the name “Stories of Bengali Hindus” was suspended over the claims that it violated the rules against ban evasion. Dr Sandeep Das took to Twitter to inform and tweeted, “We have received an email from @Twitter stating that we were suspended in view of “ban evasion”. Point to note that @storiesofBHs has never been suspended in the past, and this one was our first. We appeal to @TwitterSupport asking for more explanation for this suspension.”

He further said that @storiesofBHs had been a platform to those Bengali Hindus from East Bengal who look forward to sharing the stories of intergenerational/transgenerational trauma which were untold and ignored.
Thus, Twitter, with the shameful move, has silenced the voices of Bengali Hindus.
Twitter silencing Hindus:
During the recent Durga Puja violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, Twitter had shut down the accounts of ISKCONBangladesh (@iskconbdh) and BangladeshHinduUnity Council (@unitycouncilbd). These handles were one of the few influential handles which exposed the on-ground brutality faced by Hindus in Bangladesh.
Radharaman Das, vice president and spokesperson of ISKCON, Kolkata had also claimed that his own Twitter handle was also suspended. He said, “Twitter has killed our voice. Even my Twitter handle is locked many times. I had to delete some of my tweets and after that, I was able to access my account”.
Persecuted Bengali Hindus:
Ever since the West Bengal assembly election results were announced on May 2, a series of glory and blood infested events allegedly began being orchestrated at the behest of TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee where BJP workers and those who voted for the party were slaughtered, lynched, bombed and raped.
From being stopped from celebrating Saraswati Puja to Hindu women being raped and tortured in open, from being thrown out of their homes for their political preferences to being killed for allying with RSS – every passing month becomes more torturous for the Hindus of the state.
In addition to that, the Mamata Banerjee government is trying to ‘secularise’ the Hindu children of the state by tempering with history textbooks. In 2017, the Mamata Banerjee government replaced the word ‘Ramdhenu’ or Lord Ram’s bow with Rongdhenu.
Hindus are facing full-blown ethnic genocide in the country. They use Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking sites to share their stories. However, by suspending these accounts, Twitter is attempting to crush the voices of Bengali Hindus. Witnessing these suspensions, Hindus fear that their voice will be silenced.
