For the last 70 years, various politicians have been heavily criticised for their dirty political tactics. But, India is witnessing the emergence of the bright side of politics as well. With a slogan like “Mathura abhi baaki hai”, Yogi Adityanath has given a big push to Yaduvanshis’ claim of reestablishing various Mandirs in Mathura.
Yogi Adityanath and his ministers reinvigorate Hindutva
Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath has reinvigorated the Hindutva flag-bearers in the state. Speaking at a Maha Yagya in Ayodhya, Shri Yogi said, “BhagwanShri Ram and religion cannot be separate, they are complementary to each other. Lord Shri Ram never did injustice and did not tolerate injustice.”
The statement comes at a time when the demand for the upliftment of Mandirs in Mathura is gaining pace. Earlier in the day, Keshav Prasad Maurya, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh had tweeted about the mission to declutch various Mandirs in Kashi and Mathura.
Similar sentiments were pronounced by Raghuraj Pratap Singh, a minister of state in the Yogi Adityanath administration. Announcing that reclaiming Mathura by Hindus is BJP’s main agenda, he said, “After Ayodhya-Kashi, it is the turn of Mathura. This is on the agenda of BJP. Mathura is the birthplace of Lord Krishna, the god of Hinduism. How can we leave him?”
Yadavs- A vote bank exploited by Samajwadi Party
While the resurgence of Mathura is an age-old unfinished business of BJP, the unwritten rules of the democratic polity did not allow the party to finish its agenda. Yadavs, the descendants of Bhagwan Krishna are one of the most influential groups in the politics of UP. In spite of being one of the most powerful groups, they were always exploited by their own leaders.
Mulayam Singh Yadav and later his son Akhilesh Yadav twisted Yadavas’ loyalty towards their Muslim appeasement agendas. Since there was serious bonhomie between Muslims and Yadavs at the political level, it was almost impossible for Samajwadi Party to reconstruct Mathura, Bhagwan Krishna’s janmabhoomi by breaking down existing Islamic structures in the city.
Yadavs fed up with Muslim appeasement
Eventually, Yadavs have started to get fed up with the Muslim appeasement policy of various parties as they felt suffocated under their own moral system given to them by parties like SP. Since the Yogi Adityanath government came to the fore, Yadavs have been given a ray of hope.
Yogi’s vision of establishing Yadav’s claim has given much-needed respite to Yadavs on two fronts. Firstly, Bhagwan Krishna, the best of their forefathers will be getting his own desired place and secondly, Yadavs get a much sought-after opportunity to drift away from Muslim appeasement camp towards their own people.
Witnessing Yadav vote bank drifting away from him, Akhilesh Yadav has got nervous. He has taken up the task to scaremonger Yadavs against Yogi Adityanath. In a statement, he said, “BJP has the agenda of robbing the poor & filling the pockets of the rich, they have always worked to benefit the rich class. No Rath Yatra or new Mantra is going to help BJP in the upcoming polls.”

The synchronised efforts by PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath have led to the rejuvenation of loads of Mandirs in Uttar Pradesh and all across the country. However, freeing up of a lot of Mandirs in Bhagwan Krishna’s birthplace, Mathura is still in the pipeline. Krishna Bhakts and his descendants are eagerly waiting for the construction of a Mandir as grand as Ram Mandir in Mathura.
