Earlier in November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repeal of three farm bills urging the protestors to go back to their lands. However, it was speculated that repealing the farm bills is unlikely to end the protest that has held Delhi hostage for almost a year as the fake farmers were in Delhi with political and religious motives, not economic. Well, it is now proven that fake farmers do not intend to go back. Followed by a lack of reasons to continue the protest, they began pressurizing the government to give financial relief to the farmers who died during the protests. But, the government has denied any relief as there is no proof for the casualties.
“No record” of the deaths of farmers, claims Government
Ever since the farm laws have been repealed, the opposition along with the protesting farmers union has been questioning the government if the Centre intends to provide financial assistance to the families of those who died during the protests. On Wednesday, the Union ministry of agriculture answered for the same in Parliament and stated, “The ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare has no record in the matter and hence the question does not arise.”
Earlier, Congress leader Manish Tewari wrote a letter to the Secretary-General of the Lower House. He wrote, “During the course of the agitation, many farmers lost their lives to the harsh weather, alleged use of force by the state and violent attacks on farmers lives notably the incident that happened in LakhimpurKheri where farmers were allegedly run over by fast moving vehicles.”
“The government should create a record of farmers who lost their lives protesting the farm laws and give compensation to their families. Sir, I wish to raise this grave matter of disregard of lives of farmers by the government,” he further added.
It is pertinent to note that the opposition and so-called farmers have been claiming that as many as 700 farmers lost their lives during the protests at Delhi’s borders against the Centre’s three contentious laws, which are now repealed by the government.
Fake farmers’ fake reason to protest
Despite Modi Government’s decision to take back the three farm laws, the farmers’ unions continue to camp on the borders of Delhi and openly defy the instructions of the top court. The farmers are still not vacating the borders, for the goals of political clout hungry leaders like Rakesh Tikait has long transcended the original demands. In a tweet after the PM’s announcement, Tikait had said, “The farmers’ protest will not stop immediately, we will wait till the day when agricultural laws are repealed in Parliament. Besides MSP, the Centre should also discuss other issues with the farmers.”

The farmers still jamming the national capital to cause inconvenience to the commoners have made it quite evident that they are using these laws for their nefarious agendas.
Even if the figure 300 protesting farmers dead is correct, how many of them died due to COVID? In the time of the COVID pandemic, irresponsible behavior should not be rewarded.
What about the one Dalit Sikh who was brutally killed in broad daylight by the Permanently Protesting Paaji’s ? Government should observe a 2 minute silence to condolence for him, especially because our media has silently brushed the issue aside 😏
