China’s pants are on fire. Xi Jinping has gone berserk. His minions have lost their minds. The Chinese Communist Party does not know what has struck it. Beijing feels attacked, stripped off, humiliated, and betrayed. China is having a post-breakup traumatic fit. It thought Russia was its partner. Jinping thought Putin was romantically invested in him. It all turned out to be a lie. In his second visit out of Russia in close to two years, Vladimir Putin chose India. His only previous visit was to Geneva earlier this year, to meet U.S. President Joe Biden. Needless to say, China has been hurting for quite some time, and Putin’s visit to India to meet Prime Minister Modi came as the last straw.
Now, Xi Jinping has deployed the most formidable asset under his command to fight on behalf of China. CCP mouthpiece Global Times is trying its level best to spin Putin’s visit to India as an event which, in fact, is positive and in the best interests of China. As is widely known, Russia has begun delivering the formidable S-400 air defense systems to India this month. So, China is unsettled for a large variety of reasons.
Global Times’ Breakdown
In a piece titled, “Russia, India eye finalizing S-400 deal as Putin visits Modi,” Global Times minced no words, and said the S-400 systems would not do India any good. Of course, by saying so, Global Times was consoling itself and its paymasters. It said, “Some Indian media outlets reporting the meeting hyped the fact that the Russian weapons system could help India counter China in border areas, with the aim of driving a wedge between China and Russia, but Chinese observers called it a “low ploy” and said that in military terms, the Russian weapons system will not give India an advantage with China, and the high confidence in China-Russia relations cannot be stirred up by just a few reports.”
Going on to decorate its make-believe alternate world, Global Times quoted some random ‘expert’, who said that China has been in possession of the S-400 missile systems for a long time and was familiar with its capabilities, and is capable of neutralizing India’s threat posed by its purchased S-400. This ‘expert’ remarked that India has limited sustainable combat capability, as it relies on purchasing weapons, but China has adopted an independent system on its air defense missile system, which means the Chinese military’s logistics support capacity and supply capacity are stronger than India’s.

Remember, such arrogance is what led to the death of several PLA wimps last year at the hands of brave Indian soldiers. But Global Times is way too high on its fascination with the CCP. So, it also reported some unnamed experts as saying that Putin’s visit to India was just a routine one, and did not target China. Global Times also sought to create a perception that Putin’s visit to India was aimed against the United States alone.
China is Hurt
Russia has not been committing to China the way Xi Jinping wants it to. Russian President Vladimir Putin is playing a mighty game with China. In the short term, he is using China as an export market and is simultaneously also working towards expanding Russia’s influence around the world once again. Russia is well aware of China’s devilish designs to eat into its exclusive sphere of influence. China, meanwhile, is beginning to realise that Russia is treating it like a rag doll. Having realised its worth, China is hurting big time.
Russia is selling arms to China’s enemies in Southeast Asia, it is selling weapons to India, and, to top it all, has also recently participated in an ASEAN naval exercise across the Strait of Malacca. Diplomacy is all about subtleties and reading between the lines. China has read between the lines and realised it does not figure very prominently in Putin’s scheme of things. It has, therefore, resorted to creating a narrative that is completely false. What do you call someone who says the S-400 systems will not tilt the scales in India’s favour? An idiot.
