It was a few days back when the involvement of ISI and Khalistanis in the Ludhiana Court blast was revealed. ‘Category A’ wanted gangster and Khalistani radical, Harvinder Singh Sandhu along with Rinda Sandhu, and Jaswinder Singh Multani, a Germany based pro-Khalistan terrorist, were reportedly the mastermind of the blast. In what can be seen as a big breakthrough in the Ludhiana blast case, Jaswinder Singh Multani has been put behind the bars by the German police.
SFJ radical arrested by the German Police
Jaswinder Singh Multani, a prominent member of the banned Khalistani outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has been detained by the German Police for his alleged involvement in the Ludhiana court blast that occurred last week. He has been accused of conspiring against India and targeting locations in Delhi and Mumbai, as per the reports.
As per the diplomats based in Bonn and New Delhi, the Federal Police from Erfurt in central Germany arrested Multani after the Narendra Modi-led government requested German authorities to arrest the Khalistani terrorist. Multani is accused to have links with Pakistan and has been involved in the smuggling of arms and ammunition from neighbouring countries into Punjab.

A 45-year-old Multani who used to reside in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, is a close associate of SFJ founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.
Modi Government’s diplomatic pressure to arrest Khalistani terrorist
The arrest of SFJ terrorist Multani by the German police came after the Modi government‘s diplomatic pressure. The government clearly stated that only Germany would be held responsible if any bomb blast occurred in Mumbai or Delhi.
According to the officials, the Modi government, through its actionable intelligence in the German embassy in Delhi and Berlin, convinced the Federal Police about the profoundness of the matter. Indian Embassy officials ensured that the German authorities recognize the probability of an impending terror strike on Mumbai if Multani is not arrested.
Multani grabbed the attention of security agencies for smuggling consignments comprising explosives, hand grenades and pistols into Punjab through Pakistan based operatives and arms smugglers. Punjab police, earlier this year, had arrested Jeevan Singh of Mansa, who was radicalised and motivated by Multani. In August 2021, Multani also motivated and radicalized Saroop Singh from Johal Dhaiwala of the Tarn Taran district. Later, Saroop Singh was arrested by police and two hand grenades were recovered from him.

However, the arrest of Multani by German authorities will contribute efficiently to improving bilateral relations between the two countries. Moreover, the step will also force countries like UK and Canada to take action against Sikh separatists, who are being backed by the Pakistani deep state.
