Vanya Mishra was born on 27th February 1992 in Jalandhar in Punjab. She grew up in Chandigarh and studied electrical engineering at the Punjab Engineering College. She is currently completing her diploma in electrical engineering at the PEC and received a Bachelor of engineering degree in 2014. Vanya Mishra won the title Femina Miss India 2012 and also represented India in Miss World, 2012.

Vanya Mishra had the chance to represent India in the Miss World 2012 pageant in Ordo, Mongolia, China and became 7th runner up. At Miss World 2012, she was titled Maybelline, Stunning Eyes, Stunning Pore Skin and Photogenic. In January 2012, at the age of 19 Vanya Mishra was elected the All India winner of Miss Dabur Rising Glow. Vanya Mishra won several states and made it into the Top 20 of the 2012 Femina Miss India 2012. She finished fifth and won the other two Miss Multimedia and Beauty Reason titles.
Vanya’s goals, career, IIM to her ow start up journey
The beauty excelled had achieved the goal of attending India’s leading Business school, Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad.
After being crowned Miss India, Vanya Mishra used to attend many events. Vanya Mishra found that the designers who used to style her were relatively unknown to her. So, for a layman, not used to the fashion industry, the task of finding these designers is difficult and based on these observations, along with her vision for business, Vanya Mishra created a “SummerLabel,” an organization, a fashion and lifestyle discovery platform. It was formed in January 2015 by Vanya together with her friend Apaksh Gupta.
The founders together raised a whopping 1.2 million rupees for their project. After its formation, the platform focused on helping the common man identify homegrown labels, trends, news, tips, and much more. The platform has extensive profiles along with reviews and ratings. Users can use the app to find out which store sells what and what other users have to say about their experience.

Subsequent to a successful career with SummerLabel, Vanya Mishra decided to take a step back and made the decision to work for a reputable company in order to gain corporate experience and hence began her journey as Senior manager at Reliance Jio. Her first day as a senior manager in Reliance Jio’s Marketing and Media division was in March of the same year.
Her marketing and management skills were honed as he was in charge of various sponsorship projects for Jio. ‘Jio Main Bhi Miss India’ was one of her initiatives to empower women by encouraging them to participate in the digital campaign regardless of their social or economic status. As the project leader, Vanya Mishra was able to hone her leadership skills while promoting diversity.
Vanya Mishra’s personal life and her advice to the future generations
Vanya’s single mother inspired her to think and dream big in order to fulfill desires, but she always felt that she never had sufficient resources to accomplish this. In an interview Vanya Mishra revealed her opinion about women in business these days and said that “Having been an entrepreneur since I graduated, I realized that starting my own business has many facets and the problems women founders of Gen-X face.
They have a diverse background and have been active in broad areas such as Bollywood and the business world. As we all begin our journey in the second wave, I have seen many friends and family members suffer.”
