People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) continues to hit new lows. Trying to grab eyeballs through its radical ideas, selective targeting of religious festivals and customs, the infamous organization has now come after Hindu weddings and customs. Taking to Twitter, PETA India and perhaps one of its new-age ‘communist-manifesto-reading-teenager-leftist-intern’, tweeted, “Using horses at wedding ceremonies is ABUSIVE and CRUEL.”

Naturally, the netizens once again didn’t pass up on the opportunity to school PETA for trying to preach Hindus. One of the netizens talked about PETA remaining mum on the festival of ‘Bakra Eid’ when thousands of goats across the country and the world, are butchered mercilessly.
One wrote, “Yes, any use of animals is abusive and cruel, except for Eid slaughter. Now THAT is compassionate and kind according to @PetaIndia . You see, riding a horse is cruel, slitting it’s throat and kiIIing it by bleeding it to death in the name of the ‘compassionate one’ is cool!”

Similarly, another user wrote, “According to @PetaIndia , feeding a horse all his life just to be decorated for a wedding day is somehow more cruel and abusive than feeding a lamb for a year just to eat it on a special day. Brainless illogical propagandist @PetaIndia , you’re serving your masters good. #Hypocrisy”

Targeting the festival of Rakhi
Off late, PETA has completely lost the plot and started using shock and the same time, utterly ludicrous marketing campaigns to make their brain fade points. Last year, the supposed ‘animal rights’ organization targeted the festival of Rakhi by launching a billboard campaign with the tagline “Go leather free’, featuring a cow seeking protection. Rakhi is perhaps the most eco-friendly of the festivals across the planet. No one uses leather Rakhi in any Hindu household and yet PETA took it as an opportunity to disparage the Hindu festival.
When called out about its confounding campaign, PETA came up with a mind-numbingly dumb tweet. It remarked, “We didn’t say rakhis are made of leather. We said Raksha Bandhan is a good day to extend protection to cows who are our sisters under the skin by taking a pledge to go leather-free, for life. That’s a message all kind people can get behind.”
Please enlighten me how's Raksha Bandhan related to it. Who wears leather rakhis?
Rather than giving analogies filled with ambiguities share the facts where Hindus tie leather rakhis and if you aren't able to then stop demeaning our culture. Thanks— H.A.T.E (@thedream49) July 15, 2020
PETA kills and euthanizes animals
While PETA puts up a front that it cares for the animals, the reality is entirely different. After its workers were beaten black and blue by a gang of Islamists for promoting vegan Eid, the organization completely shelved its campaign for calling out Muslims for Eid celebrations, which entail the inhumane slaughtering of many goats.
Moreover, reported previously, PETA is accused of putting to death up to 97.4 per cent of the animals in its care in any given year, including those it accepts from members of the public who expect the organization to provide these helpless animals with a new home. The animal rights group has put down shockingly 36,000 animals in the last 20 years.

According to PETA’s twisted beliefs, it’s more humane to just euthanise the animals than for hypothetical harm to befall them in the future. In November 2014, PETA employees had allegedly taken a family’s Chihuahua without cause in broad daylight from the family’s home in Virginia, USA.
Using porn for its campaign
Reported recently by TFI, PETA had resorted to soft pornography to push its agenda of stopping people from eating meat because it interfered with their sex life.
Captioned, ‘Can’t put your finger on what’s not working in the bedroom?’, PETA posted a sexually suggestive video that was replete with WhatsApp-esque forwards. The messages in the video read, “Want to spice up things in the bedroom? Chili peppers can have you hot and heavy in no time. A squirt of OJ (Orange Juice) increases blood flow to important organs. Get a load of zinc to increase your libido. Avocados will give you the stamina to keep going on for hours. Go vegan. Your partner will thank you.”

The group that does not want you to burst crackers on Diwali to avoid ‘hurting’ the animals, the same PETA that campaigns to ban the old-age tradition of Jallikattu but makes a half-hearted plea against animal slaughter during Eid or keeps mum entirely, is now struggling to stay relevant and hence using such myriad topics to create controversy.
